Homemade deliciousness

Just off the main drag, this little restaurant was a lovely find. Everything is made fresh in-house, including the breads, cinnamon buns and delicious soups. The all day breakfasts are HUGE, and the slice of bread has to be the biggest I have ever seen. It wasn't at all busy when we visited and the... read more

This was a great find for breakfast! Very good selection. I had Texan breakfast. Good amount of food & delicious. Coffee excellent, no need for cream. Homemade bread/toast. Three eggs, hash browns, 2 slices of bacon & 2 sausages. Interesting lifestyle philosophical wall hangings. Beth (owner) had some good info for travel destinations in Alberta. I would love to have... Driving from Glacier National Park back to Fairmont Hot springs. Saw this listing on TA Advertised homemade meat loaf sandwich we decided to split. Meat loaf was dry, no flavor and in appearance looked like shoe leather. TA reviews were good our food experience was not.

Great place for lunch in downtown Cranbook. All the food has that homemade flare. The bread slices are almost rediculously thick. Their borscht is the best in town. The restaurant is decorated with all sorts of posters, nick nacks and pithy sayings posted on the walls. It's a bit of tight squeeze, but its homey. Service is usually decent. They... More

We stopped in for lunch and the restaurant was very busy. We found a table and discovered the first problem with the restaurant. The tables are incredibly close together. Plan on being jostled by servers and other customers as you eat. Other than this, the restaurant is kind of cool with lots of great artwork and pastel colours. The second... More

While passing through Cranbrook, BC we searched Urban Spoon for a lunch stop. The Cottage Restaurant had the most stars and we weren't at all disappointed. The food was good, prices fair and service friendly.

The Cottage Restaurant is a down-home, wonderful place to eat. The staff are friendly, helpful and remember you. I go there as often as I can.

This restaurant does have excellent home made soups, I will say that. And there are old-fashioned, eclectic decorations around that remind me (fondly) of my great grandmother's kitchen, so that has some charm. For me, that's where the positives end. The seating is extremely cramped though. This is especially problematic because the soup bar is self-serve, and you have to... More
