Dropped in for a meal while staying at the nearby campground. Good food.Cold beer. Very friendly staff. Music wasn't too loud to talk over. Nice patio overlooking the river. Will make this a planned stop the next time through on the Trans Canada.

A neat spot for some quick pub food and an icy cold adult beverage! Not a spot for families with young children - it's a pub! Food was good and the beer as well! Big screen televisions and a local vibe! Daily drink specials and service was good.

I had eaten here before on a business trip, but went back for the patio. We had the pizza, which was small, only 8" but still good. For the most part, the food seems higher priced than other pubs in the area, but still a good place. Its also very close to the campground for you campers out there.

Unfortunately we showed up just after a power outage, so the main grill was off. So, we all had chicken fingers and fries, which were still delicious. :) A few drinks later, we stayed for Karaoke (it was a Friday night.) Great night, had a lot of fun, and will definitely be back.

My brother and I visiting Golden dropped in for a beer. The building was cold inside. It was -28 outside. The staff said the thermostat was locked and they couldn't change it. There were 3 people in it for a Saturday night. It needs a new owner.

We often stop at Mad Trapper before and after our mountaineering trips. Good place to meet friends. Could be a bit loud, we prefer outdoor seating.

Mad Trapper has a great atmosphere - we were there for the Superbowl and the big screen was going so it was a sweet scene. The server was okay, not overly friendly, but she did a good job. The food was pretty mediocre. I ordered a $15 salad which was bland and might as well have come out of a... More

The food was ok, but the value was missing. The 'fish & chips' had 2 small pieces of fish, 2 tablespoons of cole slaw and a huge mound of chips.

Went with a group of friends riding our motorbikes. Has a kind of hunting lodge atmosphere. Has a small balcony that over-looks the river. Everyone seemed to like their food and we ended up staying WAY longer than we had planned. Waitress was friendly.
