Description: The Kicking Horse Grill, Golden's only Steak & Seafood restaurant. Located in a historic log building mere minutes from downtown. Over the years we have developed an international reputation for quality food, and exceptional service. We trim and cut our prime Alberta beef to order in house. Enjoy locally farmed buffalo ribs, thick cut pork chops, or a fresh seafood selection that brings the ocean to our doorstep. Fresh ahi tuna, steelhead, and wild sea scallops, delivered to us twice weekly from all over the continent. We look forward to meeting you at The grill! Chris and Martijn

This was the best place to go for a great meal in town. Too bad it's closed. The replacement is a pub fare. Too many of those in golden. The kicking horse grill was where you good dress up for a very nice time. Cheers to the Kicking horse grill. May we see you someday again.

We tried this place twice, two years ago and now. Same impression: the food is quite average but the service is nice and friendly.

Great food, great atmosphere and great service with prices comparable to eating in the day lodge. So why would you line up for canteen food when you can have restaurant quality food in a venue with a great atmosphere?

But friendly servers! Food was okay. Patio is awesome at the end of the day. DJ rocked. Selection pretty good. Prices fair.

Ok, so I know the rule. Don't order seafood when you're not on the coast. Well, call me a rule breaker. I had the Salmon, it was fantastic. Overall, a bit pricey for the portion(s), but when a meal is served this good, sometimes quality is better than quantity.

This is a fairly upscale restaurant in an log style building that disguises the good food and wine list inside. Very knowledgeable owner who is passionate about his establishment. Try the Bison Ribs.

I have ate once in the restaurant and that was just the soup of the day. The second time was a catered event at the golf course. This was not at all what I was expecting. For serving hamburgers and sausage coleslaw with apple crisp for desert. The sausage was very hot, to hot to finish. The coleslaw was inconsistent... More

Great food, wonderful atmosphere, terrific service. The bison ribs and bison ribeye steak were wonderful (and the garlic mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables that came with them). But I'm devastated to learn that they are closing at the end of August (my thanks to TripAdvisor reviewer Jerome 67 for this unhappy news...). It has city prices, but the food is... More

Was tipped in the lonely planet as a good place to have dinner. Food was cooked very good with fresh ingredients, you could taste it. Really liked my salmon. Bit pricy but worth it. The owner told me he was closing down end of August, we were the only guests that night.
