Description: The chefs at Joe's Restaurant & Lounge rarely look farther than 150 kilometres away for their meats and produce, sourcing organic ingredients from farmers throughout the Fraser Valley whenever possible. These ingredients lend harvest-fresh flavours to their eclectically influenced menu, which includes aged-in-house Angus steaks alongside traditional Creole, Indian, and Italian entrees. They also whisk together all of their own sauces and dressings, and modify dishes to accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free diets. The restaurant features outdoor seating for scowling at clouds during the warmer seasons, and shelters guests with rich earth tones and dark wooden accents within the dining room. Red tulips add vibrant splashes to the decor, as do the tabletop colouring sheets that busy children's hands pre-meal.

This Restaurant is top notch. Should be downtown Vancouver. The young owner, Hiro, is well studied in the art and his high standards show through in the atmosphere, menu, presentations and taste. Also, a great team of hard workers that seem to share the owners passion in working to satisfy their customers. Price? Well, you do pay a little more,... More

We stopped in Hope on our way to a work assignment farther north. I had succulent salmon filets (prepared Sous Vide) with baby red potatoes, fresh spinach, on a herbed dill sauce garnished with deep but lightly fried brussel sprouts, paper-thin radish and fennel strips. (I think.) The presentation was original and I hadn't tasted anything quite like it before.... More

My Brussel sprouts were hopelessly over seasoned. Its like the top of the salt shaker fell off. My 27 dollar new York steak was medium rare if not medium. I had ordered it rare. My girls duck had the most peculiar ham like taste (I urged her not to eat anymore after I tasted it) and the incessant hollering of... More

After looking at reviews on trip advisor we decided to try 293 Wallace. Delicious sums it up for us. Menu was small but lots of choice. We had beef cheek croquettes to start - potato was light and fluffy and beef was melt in mouth. I then had burger and it was just right size and the other meal was... More

The restaurant is now called "293 Wallace". A young passionate chef named Hiro runs it and makes some of the best bar food I've ever had. He sources local ingredients and takes bar food a notch above. The restaurant has simple but well designed decor and the service is also quite good. As someone who drives to the coast often,... We visited this restaurant in September - rather a late review but we are just going through our holiday snaps so remembered this very poor experience we had at this place that was recommended to us locally. I can only believe they were paid to recommend this! The food was average, expensive, and we were not offered any chance of... More

Travelling through Hope for overnight in campground. We took taxi to this restaurant and were immediately were delighted by the decor, casual chic. The wine list (almost typed in wine lust)...featured great BC wines and affordable considering quality. The Desert Hills Gamay was WOW red wine...don't think a bad dinner is served here. Presentation was first class as was the... More

The food here is sensational! Local produce with exceptional taste and presentation at reasonable prices. Also great local wines! What a surprise find in a country town like Hope!

We were travelling through Hope on our way home from Vernon and thought we would stop in to this great little place that had some great reviews on TA and other food review sites. It's not called Joes anymore, but 293 Wallace. We were pleasantly surprised by the décor when we walked in and chose to sit on the patio... More

On a recent trip we decided to stop in Hope for dinner and found this restaurant by total luck. The rather modern look of the exterior caught our eye and we were immediately drawn to it. The place is small with a trendy cool vibe and a modern but comfortable interior. It is definitely a place we did not expect... More
