My mother and I just had a lovely meal at Strand's. We loved the setting/decor, the antiques and colonial styling. Our appetizers were excellent, she had the butternut squash soup and I had the butter leaf wedge salad, which was 5/5. Our entrees were very good, closer to a 4.5/5, mom's meat could have been "more flavorful" and my elk... More

A standard in the valley. Heritage house with charm. Variety of items on menu. Early bird special most nights. Regular menu is great. Knowledgeable, friendly staff.

My Husband and I were looking for a romantic atmosphere, great food selection and excellent service , we hit a home run with the strands old house restaurant. The atmosphere was quaint, reminded us of a home favorite, the food selection was generous, presentation was fabulous and service was very warm and friendly, it was just what we were looking... More

Sitting in their garden is worth the visit alone. The specials that they do keeps them original and keeps the menu new, could use an update but overall a good meal was had

So sad but this restaurant has been a cornerstone in this delightful community for years. We have been many times when we visit here, over the years, but noticed that it seems to be slipping. This last time, they were out of most menu choices even though it was only seven PM. What we did order was cold for one... More

Went here on weeknight without reservations. We ordered the soup of the day, cauliflower, which was excellent. My wife had a stupendous composed salad with bitter greens, asparagus, avocado, and countless other fresh veggies with raspberry vinagarette. I ordered the veal schnitzel with spatzel. Perfectly done and served with lemon and sauteed vegetables, perfect. We had the fresh sorbet trio:... More

We were greeted and seated promptly, by a very friendly, smiling hostess who asked if we had a reservation, and when we did not, were were not made to feel like 2nd class citizens. Loved the fresh Oysters on the Half shell and the Polynesian Halibut. My wife loved her stuffed seafood chicken breast. The waiter Zona was very attentive,... More

The menu is extensive and includes choices of game, vegetarian, meats, poultry and seafood. Something for everyone. We dined on the veranda and had superb service, ambiance and charm of the yard of this historical home. Never rushed, attention from both staff and management insured that we had a dining experience that we enjoyed.

We were in Invermere on Easter Sunday 2011 and Strand's was recommended to us by a local. We got there late (9 pm?) and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was amazing! We had (and would recommend) the poached artichoke, and tuna (best ever) as appetizers - for the main we... More

Had dinner here the other night while on vacation. We did not have appetizers, but both our meals were quite tasty (veal schnitzel and halibut oriental). We shared a dessert (Strand's Pie: Apple-blackberry) which was very very good. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.
