The Hume Hotel has three different food outlets to eat in that offer the same menu and a vast array of food. A family restaurant called the General Store, an intimate fireside lounge featuring live jazz called the Library Lounge or a lively, old English-style bar called Mike's Place Pub. We cook up amazing steaks, pastas, seafood, the '100 Mile Burger', sandwiches, salads and homemade desserts. We are also known for a legendary Sunday Brunch that goes from 11am - 2pm every Sunday. We are popular for our consistency, generous portions, food quality and reasonable prices all to be enjoyed in a character atmosphere that was built in 1898. There is no place like the Hume.

Good food, GREAT service!

Our server made our dining experience wonderful. He had a contagious happiness about him and was very attentive to our every request. Even placating our kids with dinner mints when we said "no" to dessert. :)

I have a feeling I know who your waiter was...was he a furry, funny Italian guy?! He has a way with kids and people in general. Thanks for taking the time to review our restaurant BCHockeymama! More

We took friends out for a nice dinner as a thank you and we chose the Hume as the food is always good and there is a great selection. Everything was perfect. The men had steak, I had the Chicken Diane and the other woman has pasta. Every meal was very good. The service was excellent. They have wonderful staff... More

Brunch? Check. Rotating menu? Check. Delicious food? Check. This place is the bomb. A great family spot and an incredible selection. It's so great I have few words to say. Go here if you can. You won't be disappointed.

Staying overnight at the hotel for business, total experience was much welcomed change from the norm. Every element of the stay takes you back to a time when people lived far more modestly, while still providing modern day amenities. Ambiance at the two hotel restaurants I ate in were unlike anything I've experienced in my travels, truly allowing me to... More

Hi Amit - thanks for the write-up. A lot of people mention that it is truly like stepping back in time. We just had our 117th birthday on St Patrick's Day. We hope you will stay with us again the next time you are in town. More

We would have stayed here, but the upper floors of the hotel were the ones renovated and the (only) elevator was temporarily out of commission. I have 2 new knees, so found it difficult to contemplate the stair climbing. So...we left our hotel and went to the Hume for breakfast. First of all, our server was a beautiful young woman,... More

Yes unfortunately the elevator is out of commission for a few weeks as it needs modernizing (sadly). Next time you are in town you will have to try one of our newly renovated rooms. I have shared your review with that "beautiful, young woman" that served you. She blushed with joy. We appreciate you taking the time to review us! More

I meet friends here and/or go out for supper regularly, consistently great food, and very friendly staff make the Hume a great place to meet friends or go out for a great lunch or dinner.

Shauna and Sarah are amazing! They are a big part of the daytime scene at the General Store Restaurant. Thanks for saying so Max D. I love the picture too, not enough people take pics on Tripadvisor it seems. More

We enjoyed the ambiance, the meal was nice, the service excellent, but a bit like an up market pub meal.

We went there on a busy Friday night. Got a table in the library, the restaurant was full. After we ate we met friends and moved upstairs to the pub. We all had pasta, it was very good.

The Hume Hotel has a couple of restaurants downstairs and Mike's upstairs. Mike's is where a lot of the locals go on the weekends for dinner and/or drinks (it's one of the 2 main pubs in town). Food is good, well priced and large servings. You can watch sport on the TVs, play pool or darts. Good for a casual... More
