5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014 NEW

We were six for dinner tonight and the meal was fabulous and hot. We all had different entrees that were tasty, beautifully presented, and served with a smile. The butter chicken was just the right amount of spicy, the ribs were melt off the bone good, and both the teenagers loved their pastas. It has been years since I have... More

Max and Irma's is small place off baker street where Max is the cook and Irma is the waitress. They have a few specials each day. We had a chicken wrap that was amazing. They also have local beer. They are closed on Sunday's but if you get the chance to eat here you will not be disappointed.

It seemed to take a long time to get our food and it wasn't very busy, but it was worth the wait. I had soup and sandwich, both homemade bread and soup and it was awesome! Everything fresh.

This little bistro is located on a side street half a block up from Baker Ave, the main downtown street of Nelson. There are plenty of tables indoors and we chose one by the window when we got there at 1115 am (opens at 11 am for lunch) as it was slightly raining. There are a few tables outdoors as... More

This restaurant and meal will go down in our memory as one of the best things about our visit to Nelson. We just happened to look up the street and see it after a day of walking around the town. The staff was so welcoming, friendly and efficient. The menu is so varied and appealing it was difficult to make... More

Every time we go to Nelson we gravitate back to Max and Irma's and have never been disappointed! I again had the special ( an almond crusted chicken breast with a great assortment of veggies fruit and nuts over greens and loaded with a wonderful variety of spices and tastes ) the board while my husband ordered a pizza and... Big menu. Good service. Clean restaurant. Decent prices. A bit loud with the open concept dining and fairly open kitchen area. Live music some evenings. Not for anyone with wheat or gluten allergies-there's probably only one or two menu selections without wheat. Great specials. Food baked in a wood-fired oven is the best!

Max & Irma's was suggested to us during our stay in Nelson. It is conveniently located just off Baker Street in a quaint location. Nice atmosphere and good service. We had a pizza and it was very good. Would definitely go back.

Max and Irma's has a great menu, especially the specials printed on the large blackboard - something for everyone. The wood-fired pizza oven produces some great eats.
