Ordered salmon, a salad and pasta. Looked ok but tasted less than fresh. Could not finish any plate. YUCK !
Despite I only had breakfast at this place, I can say it is a good choice for a nice meal. Service was splendid, this Jules guy really made me feel at home every morning. Having breakfast 5 days in a row builds quite an opinion, neat, clean, fast & kind. Eggs benedict is their alter ego on my point of... More
I'm surprised the high rating this one gets when there are so many great places to eat for the same money in Nelson. Guess the popularity of the hotel really helps it out. The hotel recently brought in a promotion that if you skip room cleaning, you get $5 for the restaurant. After a few nights we had saved up... More
I am disappointed that you were not more impressed with the quality of our food. I would like to have known what you ordered that you thought was 'mass produced' or 'pre-made'. While not all things are made from scratch, all soups, pastas, entrees and desserts are made in house. There are some appetizers and items like Veggie Burger patties... More
My wife and I were in Nelson overnight and were staying at the Best Western. I don't tend to expect too much from hotel restaurants but we met a friend for lunch and had breakfast in the Baker Street Grill. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty and the service was prompt and friendly. I particularly enjoyed my breakfast.... More
I organized a union Christmas dinner at Best Western. We used a conference room. The number of members that were to attend changed fairly often the last few days and Chrystal was nothing but accommodating. Two members ended up working and couldn't come to the dinner at the last minute. I asked Chrystal if she could make up 2 dinners... More
Last week we came to the Baker Street Grill for a family reunion dinner. Hanna, our young waitress, went out of her way to re-arrange the tables to our liking and was extremely cheerful and helpful in doing so. This little gal was young but she was an absolute natural when it comes to customer service. She just knew when... More
Have visited Nelson many times in the past 10 plus years and often stayed at this hotel and ate at the adjoining restaurant. Over the years, have noted a steady decline in the quality of food being served. Years ago, the fare was simple but filling and decently prepared. Since actually moving to Nelson in 2007 we have eaten there... More
We are sorry to hear that you feel this way. This restaurant at one time used to lose so much money but we feel good about how we have turned things around the past ten years. Your review, however, is disturbing to hear that the food and service were this bad. I would love to contact you directly to get... More
Nelson Bc in the heart of the Kootenays is home to many great places to eat. You'll find a great meal awaits whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. The chef creates wonderful specials and homemade desserts. The service is fantastic very friendly and helpful. I recommend you visit the fine folks at the Baker Street Grill.
Ate breakfast at this restaurant this morning before leaving Nelson. The food was okay but the service was terrible; despite the restaurant only being approximately 1/4 full. It was so bad, I did not leave a tip for the first time in years.
We want to sincerely apologize for the serious lack of service you received. I am not sure how it could have gone so wrong. We have some long term staff in our morning crew that are typically on the ball every day. We will be reviewing your review in our next meeting. Thanks for giving us a try. More
Okay meal with reasonable prices. Very busy location, and not much staff on when we were there. It's great that the restaurant is attached to the hotel.
