real Indian food, masterly prepared by the owners/chefs Chris and Anjali. Chris is from northern India and Anjali from the south, so a lot of the meals are a fusion of northern and southern cooking styles A very extensive menu open six days a week at lunchtime(12:00) with a buffet lunch and supper every Monday I eat here at least... Delicious indian food, the tandoori chicken especially delicious! Prices decent, decor is cozy and genuine. Not fancy but definitely festive feeling. Would come back again on future visits to Nelson.

I've only really had limited Indian Restaurant experiences but I hope they could all be like this. They are the most friendly people you could meet and the wait time to get your food is so fast. I go at least once a week for lunch and could not be happier every time. For sure a business I wish to... More

Upon visiting recently with a friend from India, we were quite disappointed..Service was very slow. Not being an expert on Indian food, My friend who obviously is, ordered a lot of things. It all seemed brown and kind of uninspiring to me, and a number of things he asked for that are very authentic (and very simple) daily things one... More

Great authentic Indian food. Helpful staff, with lots of suggestions of what is good (and not so good!)

The service is great, however the food is sub par for traditional Indian food. The butter chicken tastes purely of tomato and barbecue sauce, the lentils were extremely bitter, and the rice was a little too dry. The fish pakoras were very good though, and it's decent pricing.

We liked Baba's, its easy to find and has an authentic feel. The menu food comes out much nicer that the buffet option. It was a great deal and we left full. It's not fancy, just a nice dinner. Thanks Babas.
