Visiting Nelson can be a mixed bag in winter. Lots of places closed, but our meal at Bibo was as good as anywhere in the world. The suggested wine was excellent and complimented the meal. The special menus which we chose, was delicious. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Enjoyed this restaurant again last night. Why? Fine food with creative twists, a cosy atmosphere in a converted old house (ask for a spot by the fireplace on a cold evening). Good wine, attentive but understated service, cool music. Specifics- I enjoyed a nuanced squash/yam soup with pumpkin seeds and apple followed by shrimp with chili - fruit dressing and... More

Wow. It was flawless. Just flawless. Salad, trout entree, service. Nailed it. It's been a while since I've encountered a gem like this. Everything was cooked or prepared perfectly, and that's actually 100% everything.

Bibo is a place to try if you go in Nelson. The kitchen is very sought after and the dishes are original. The portions are small, however. Do not forget to book, there is little space. The wine list is exceptional.

This restaurant is worth a special trip to Nelson just to experience. The location and ambience are wonderful, as is the super friendly and charming staff. The raison d'être of a restaurant though, is the food, and Bibo's resoundingly delivers. Expensive, but good value. Great wine list and good selection of wine by the glass, even without New Zealand and... More
