Really nice family or couples restaurant

Our hotel was full for dinner so we went to this place on the recommendation of the front desk clerk. We were not disappointed. The service was professional, the food good and the price reasonable for a higher end place. We were satisfied after dinner so we skipped dessert and went for a walk😀.

We were a large group of 18 and we were in town for a baseball tournament. This was the season ender for us and we all wanted to go out for a bite together. They managed to put us all together and took care of us even though we did not have reservations and were probably not prepared. They did... More

My partner and I visited here Sunday July 25. We arrived at 5:30. The hostess was not pleasant when we walked in the door. She was too busy fixing menus when she walked in and we stood there watching her for a few minutes before she finally showed us to our seat. (I did have reservations). Our waiter came, pushed... Interesting how the very same actions are viewed through another lens. Your hostess/ you as she greets every customer coming through the door, with a genuine smile and welcome. .We received our new menus late that day, so your hostess was hurriedly getting them in the cover before giving them to you. Thousands of our guests are presented with the... More

We have eaten here many times over the last 10 years and always enjoy the fresh pan fried halibut. The food is consistently good and they have pleasant old fashioned service and we always share a joke with our server. Love this place !

The Shrimp Cocktail was a disaster. The shrimp had NO TASTE which was likely caused by them being: a) old or b) frozen too long. A big disappointment for we have eaten at Kalvas' for many years. The balance of the meal was of the quality we had become to expect but the shrimp put a pall over our dinner.

Thank you for making Kalva’s one of your go-to restaurants. We strive to serve the freshest, most flavorful food, which is recognized by regular customers like you. If anything does not meet your standard, we would be more than willing when asked to make a new shrimp cocktail – it is one of the quickest dishes to make with fresh... More

What a pleasant surprise when my wife and I dined there last week. One of my associates advised me to try this place since the last time we ate there was a couple of years back. We always loved the atmosphere because the restaurant is appropriately named (The Log House) as the interior is all wood and logs throughout. In... More

The best meal we have had in Parksville. John our waiter was fantastic. This is the place to have a seafood dinner in a down to earth but upscale food restaurant.

Great food, beautiful location...and then we were served more attitude than good food. My wife and I are pretty easy-going. Don't expect too much, but we thought as we were dished attitude by this ol' waiter....OK he has a bad day, someone ran over his cat....something. But NO, a big table comes in, maybe even locals...who cares, because as soon... More

We booked here on the back of trip advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed the food was probably the best we have had in Parksville with lovely fresh vegetables and good oysters they were gorgeous, and as for the desserts my husband never usually has dessert but really enjoyed the cheesecake!
