Hidden delight

We were just cruising around looking for a place to eat that was not a fast food and discovered this place. It is located in a small strip mall beside Quality Foods. If you like good home-style food go to the Farnhouse. Excellent breakfast items. Closes early in afternoon.

This is a little Restraunt worth stopping at. The fries are homemade and fresh cut and the burger patties are hand made. The toppings are fresh and your choice of melted cheddar or swiss cheese. The waitress was really friendly and the service was prompt. The name says it all. Home style cooking and food prep. Homemade cinnimon buns and... More

Somehow I ended up at the Farmhouse Cafe twice this past week for lunch, with different people. I was hoping I would like it, because I love the small town homey, greasy spoon atmosphere, the prices are decent and it was cosy warm. I need a sweater on it seems in most restaurants. However, both times the filling in all... More

We went for breakfast and were all very impressed with the food. The menu is pretty basic but you can tell a lot of love goes in to making it. My poached eggs were perfectly done to my liking, (I haven't had a lot of luck with that lately) the pan fries were actually pan fried potatoes, not deep fried... More

We were looking for a small quick lunch, and there it was - on your left going south, or on your right going north on the Island Highway in Parksville. The soup was what any good green pea soup should be - and the sandwich truly added to how a surprisingly satisfying light lunch could be. Big smiles, a pleasant... More

Very quiet, unassuming. Really felt like eating in a little farmhouse kitchen. I found the bread unimaginative (I like to explore artisan breads) and the coffee a little on the weak side, but they were OK with me bringing in a latte from Lefty's. For breakfast I want simple, wholesome and delicious. That's what I got. They got extra credit... More

If you're looking for a good local spot to grab a coffee and some bacon and eggs to get your day started, this is the place to go. Nothin fancy but they deliver the goods with friendly and prompt service. They are always helpful with my kids ( they have toys and sippy cups ). I wish it was a... More

Best Breakfast in Town, no more need be said! But I will say more, Family run, with a loyal regular following of diners, Good prices for good honest food. If there were something wrong with this place, people would not be regulars!

Went in here just to have a coffee and am so glad I didn't order food. Watched the cook in the kitchen lick his fingers to open a bag and then pick up a bread roll without washing his hands. And the waitress delivered food with long flowing hair all over the place. It should have been tied back. Can... More
