We recently took a dear friend to lunch when we were visiting Parksville. Tigh-Na-Mara is a favourite hotel and the Cedar Room a favourite restaurant. We were not disappointed. The service was excellent, the food was very tasty and well presented. We spent a delightful 2.5 hours and at no time were we hurried or given the impression that it... More

We all came together to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary last Sunday. There was a group of twelve at our table. The service was top notch as was the food. I have nothing but admiration for the service we received. Well done and thank you. Recommend the mussels as an appraiser, best I have ever had.

We visited the Cedar Room with a friend visiting from New Zealand. The ambiance, server and quality of food were all good. Had a window table overlooking the fir forest that surrounds the resort. Only reason we wouldn't return often was the portions of food were VERY small by any standards. Had both pasta and chicken dishes and left hungry,... More

Our dinners and breakfasts were good when we stayed here. The buffet was very disappointing. Hopefully, this was an 'off' day because the rest of our meals were well prepared and delicious.

Delicious. Two of us had the pepper steak, both cooked to perfection. One of us had the striploin, also cooked to perfection. The brussel sprouts were very undercooked. I don't like them mushy, but they were way too hard. Really the only major negative was the temperature. When we were seated there was an arctic blast blowing right on us,... More

Excellent food and good speedy service. The waiter was very helpful and patient with my 1 year old baby making a lot of fuss.

Our evening was murdered by the service. On arrival I loved the setting of this resort and had high expectations as I am an islander. We sat down in the comfortable chairs in the bar and sat, and sat and was ignored then eventually my husband went to the bar to get some service. We we're jot welcome, no menus,... More

Definitely one of the better meals I have had in a restaurant but not quite the best. Some of the combinations seems a bit odd and possibly made just to be different but flavours didn't always jive. I would still eat here again, just popped in on a whim while out for a Harley ride.

On our recent stay at Tigh-na-mara we had the opportunity to dine twice at the Cedar Room, once for dinner and then for breakfast too. The food was incredible. We were lucky enough to have won a prize that included meal vouchers, so the price was right! All the food was great, no complaints at all. They even gave us... More
