typical English Food: fish & chips (halibut), steak, chicken pot pie, mushy peas There was nothing spectacular about the food if you are looking for haute cuisine this isn't the place however the food was reasonably and well prepared

Stayed at the resort, this is an English style pub restaurant. Service is awesome, food is a bit overpriced. 18 different beers on tap. Great to visit if you don't want to leave the resort and just want to relax!

Went here because they advertised English Fare. For the outside seating, you go to the bar and order and then they will bring your meal to you at the tables outside. Downside is that the outdoor tables are heavy picnic style table where you have to swing your leg over the seat to get seated. Not good for older people.... More

My husband and I shared drinks and appies on the front lawn. It was great! The atmosphere was lovely and so was the food.

This place is absolutely delightful on a fine summer day. (If only we had more of those!) The staff are cheerful and efficient, the food & drink are authentic (Brit bar food) -- and I don't mean that in the usual negative sense! My wife had the excellent fish & chips; I took a chance on the steak & kidney... More

We ate at the Black Goose our first night in Parksville as we stayed in one of the nearby resorts. It was a good choice as we sat outside and enjoyed the scenery on a warm summer night. I had the seafood salad with smoked salmon (which was excellent), and my husband enjoyed a local brew along with his fish... More

This is a really funky Pub. The building is interesting with old glass, multiple fire places and dark wood. The wait staff is helpful. There are lots of tables inside and out and it is a "Find your own place" kind of Pub. I was not fond of the batter on the fish, though the fish was very good.

I visited the Black Goose while staying at Beach Acres on my holiday from England. The food was great. Generous portions and the pie was very tasty. My son had the sausage and mash and for a fussy eater left an empty plate. The biggest plus point has to be the location. Views and atmosphere are amazing. I also found... More

I'm a Brit, I should know! this place is like English pubs from 20 years ago, very dated menu selection and very expensive, $9 for a kids meal in a plastic basket where the only options were fries, in this day and age, shocking. Booked a table but when we arrived sign said to seat yourself, so we had to... More

What a place - real gem - it is little hard to find without local knowledge but once there you are treated to a delight in food - fish & chips or other traditional english dishes served with any number of beer options - service was great
