Imagine a grey and rainy ""wet-coast" afternoon on Vancouver Island. Then imagine sitting down in front a big wood fireplace in an old heritage house to enjoy a full-bodied, fresh draft and a big plate of halibut bites, fries, and a super fresh salad. Such is comfort of the Black Goose Inn. What more could you want?

The food is always top notch. The staff is friendly and the view is great. Then there is always a walk on the beach to finish.

not quite a pub but all the flavor of one with great view ,unique architecture, ocean glimpses and a wonderful fireplace. We like to sit in the small area beside the bar by the window. The fish and chips are excellent and a wide variety of beer on tap.

A lovely traditional Scottish hunting lodge with excellent food and service. It was located on a resort close by the beach with beautiful scenic views overlooking the sea. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious, and not like the majority of places offering 'pub food' we had a lovely choice of good traditional home... More

Firstly, the food we had was quite good but the service did not really match it. It was quite busy when we went there on a Tuesday night but it seemed the place could not cope with the number of guests. We had a long queue to order the food at the bar where we found that they had run... More

typical English Food: fish & chips (halibut), steak, chicken pot pie, mushy peas There was nothing spectacular about the food if you are looking for haute cuisine this isn't the place however the food was reasonably and well prepared

Stayed at the resort, this is an English style pub restaurant. Service is awesome, food is a bit overpriced. 18 different beers on tap. Great to visit if you don't want to leave the resort and just want to relax!

Went here because they advertised English Fare. For the outside seating, you go to the bar and order and then they will bring your meal to you at the tables outside. Downside is that the outdoor tables are heavy picnic style table where you have to swing your leg over the seat to get seated. Not good for older people.... More

My husband and I shared drinks and appies on the front lawn. It was great! The atmosphere was lovely and so was the food.

This place is absolutely delightful on a fine summer day. (If only we had more of those!) The staff are cheerful and efficient, the food & drink are authentic (Brit bar food) -- and I don't mean that in the usual negative sense! My wife had the excellent fish & chips; I took a chance on the steak & kidney... More
