I've been approximately 10 times in the past year and I've never been disappointed. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but once inside its friendly, cozy and the food is very authentic. The sashimi is wonderful. The rolls are perfect and made with light fluffy rice. There are some very tasty, unique rolls as well. The seafood is... More

I have lived in Parksville for the past six years and have never been disappointed by Sam's. This is place that most locals love and hold in high regard. Sam's is small, friendly and usually full during the lunch service. The varied menu has everything that you would expect at a sushi restaurant, but there are a few special regular... More

This place was recommended by fellow curlers. They said sushi made by someone truly from Japan. They also said that I should not be put off by appearance of restaurant. They were 100% right - very good sushi and very fresh.

This little place is in one of those little strip malls that bend around a corner, with businesses that seem to come and go - real estate office, multi level marketing biz - that sort of thing. The surrounding area is not much better - a combination of old houses that sprouted up along the old two lane highway up... More

I really liked Sam's. The menu was quite extensive , catered to to vegetarians also (my wife) and in my view was inexpensive. Four of us ate out for 90$. The sushi and sashimi were good and the staff / service was great. I will visit again.

I love Sam's. I enjoy sushi all over North America, but Sam's is up there among my favorites. If you're returning from Tofino, don't turn off to Coombs [goats on roof], and just keep going, right through Qualicum, and down to the beach. Turn right on the old Island Highway, and Sam's will be on your right in 10 minutes.... More

When you are purchasing an expensive commodity like sushi, you expect to pay a bit more for quality, but here it was completely off. Quality was 'ok' BUT portion size is VERY small. I paid 25 dollars for a roll, salad and 4 pcs tuna sashimi. The winter roll was great but very small serving. The tuna sashimi was medium-low quality... More

We are sushi "snobs" from L.A. and have had some of our best sushi and sashimi at Sam's. Sam and his staff are warm and welcoming and aim to please. The sushi is always fresh and the presentation is eye-catching. If you are looking for fresh sushi or interesting rolls, Sam's is the place to go.

For the past several years, we've mostly done take-out from Sam's Sushi, but my daughter and I decided to dine in the restaurant for a change. We arrived at the dinner hour, around 6 p.m., behind a family of six. We were greeting promptly and given menus. Since there was only one server, we thought there might be a wait,... More
