Fry bread or fisherman's bread and home made bumbleberry jam are a must try! Hopefully all will be like my first visit. The second visit the oil was too cool which made the resulting fry bread.... oily otherwise known as GREASY! The restaurant is rather dreary and dark; however, the food is excellent. Short hours are great for the staff;... More

I am a big fan of small little diners such as this. Everytime I visit places such as swale rock they always have a great atmosphere and great food. The fisherman's bread and home made bumbleberry jam are a must try. The portions are great and you won't be leaving hungry if you have the hungry man's breakfast or an... More

I just stopped in port Alberti for lunch and I had a seafood club sandwich, which had a perfect combination of beacon, tomatoes and shrimps... And to finish this amazing meal I had one of those breads, I think they call therm fisherman bread, it was perfect!!!

If you want a great breakfast this is a must. If you are not worried about calories or want to treat yourself order the fishermans bread. Also served on menu home made jam and bread.

Bakery yeast bread makes great toast and their Fisherman's bread is great too. Is very good with their raspberry jam ... it is a little too sweet for my taste but then I notice when there is too much sugar in stuff because I am diabetic. Eggs are good, too many potatoes in their hashbrowns and french fries, I like... More

If you love eggs benedict, this is the place for you. Simply delicious. Then take a short stroll to the Harbour key, and enjoy the inlet.

Swale Rock Cafe is very close to where I work. Just tried having lunch there with my children for a nice break in my day. Waited over 40 minutes after ordering to discover our order had been lost and still wasn't ready. Don't know what the food is like. We didn't get to taste it. We had to leave without... More

Two or three times a year we head out from Nanaimo to the west coast of Vancouver Island and somehow we always seem to be passing by the Swale Rock right around lunchtime. What a coincidence! I'm a chowder guy and right now I have the Swale Rock and the Pelican (on the Oregon coast at Pacific City) tied for... More

I can't speak for most items on the menu, because I can't get past the cajun halibut burger. It is my all time favourite. Everyone LOVES the fisherman's bread. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Always delicious. Staff very friendly and efficient. I buy their huge loaves of bread to take home. Love this place.

Was just there a week ago! Food was just as wonderful as always. Excellent service as well. Fisherman's bread and chowder the best!
