We were a table of 3 who arrived for an early bite to eat at 6:30 pm, the inside and patio were both full and we got the last table. I forgot that people in small towns tend to eat early so we arrived at the height of the dinner hour. The staff appeared to be run off their feet... More

I was looking forward to coming to the Clam Bucket for a meal. The last time we were in town it was a hi-lite. The food was just average this time around. The service staff was exceptional as always though. I will give it another chance next time I am in Port Alberni

I've been to this place twice in seven years. The first time I got sick after eating there. This time I started feeling queasy even before I'd finished eating. What the hell? Plus, this place has the ambiance of a 70's diner. It's a hovel! NEVER again!

We just came from eating here, love their food. Our server seemed decent enough but that was short lived. She left our drinks empty til our appy came. Then left our empty appy plate on our table the whole time we were eating, I tried putting near the edge of the table thinking maybe she would grab it. Then my... More

We were at a cabin near Port Alberni and came in for dinner. We were on the patio, which was cool but tolerable, and would note that the indoor section was packed with a lineup when we left on a FRiday evening. Good selection of draft beers, and an extensive menu. We opted for a $70 platter described as being... More

large selection, friendly staff, we didn't have reservations and did not have to wait to have a table on the patio. Patio is fabulous, covered and has plants everywhere, very pretty. Food was very good although the kitchen was backed up so our appys came with our mains and the food took a little longer than I would like but... More

Great food & great service. The restaurant is right across from the Somass River, beautiful view & you might be lucky enough to see a bear!

If what you want is seafood deep fried in batter, this is your place. They do that very well, and they have a few versions of it.

We ordered the clam chowder and the seafood critter sandwich. Fries were stale and hard and the sandwich was mediocre. Clam chowder was slightly better. The menu is extensive. This is a family friendly restaurant with mediocre food. We appreciated the trivial pursuit cards on the table.

We decided to treat ourselves this week and went to the Clam Bucket in Port Alberni! Sat out on the deck facing the river. Beautiful venue, quaint with really nice views. The service was excellent, the food portions very good and wow was it tasty! Highly recommend this place
