Best fish and chips anywhere! Where else do you get multiple choices of type of fish, coating, method of cooking and sauces. Just fantastic.

We Shared a two piece panko grilled Halibut, with a salad. More than enough for us to share and fill up. Great tasting fish, the coleslaw was really homemade and yummy. Will definitely be back when we go through Port Alberni again!

There are lots of "fish'n chip" restaurants on southern Vancouver Island and this probably the best I have come across in many years. They stick to the script: fish and chips, well made. But they offer a choice of three types of fish (cod, salmon and halibut) with a choice of three types of cooking: traditional English, crunchy breaded and... More

We were 4 people who ordered a large platter with different seafood tapas. The dish that came in was well served, the various seafoods were good. The place was well attended, we were easily accommodated and there was soon a friendly staff who had explained the menu, which came shortly after.

We loved the food. We had salmon, cod and halibut. One more delicious than other. And to complete we had a velvety chocolate cake, yum. The staff were very nice. 😊😊😊

Stopped into Bare Bones Fish and Chips on the way to Ucluelet. The service here is fast and friendly! My husband and I both ordered the cod fish and chips with a side of fries and coleslaw. Everything was delicious! Keep in mind that the portions are huge! Most people would be satisfied with one piece of fish. The two... More

first of all it is in an old historic church which makes me happy that it was saved, and not torn down. It is not too big so it has lots of character and really cool décor. Server was lovely and could tell us where the product came from[Victoria actually] and caught fresh, well you can tell that when you... More

My father eats here regularly and took my brother and I there last evening at the end of a short but intense fishing trip of our own. The restaurant was very nicely decorated by someone with an eye for thematically matched art, and the nice little touches like their own bottles for ketchup and 2 kinds of vinegar were quickly... We eat in this restaurant whenever we are in Port Alberni. The food is excellent and the portions are generous. We always have the cod in panko and the coating is light so you can enjoy the fish. Their side salads are very good as they do not use an excessive amount of dressing. The staff are friendly and the... More

On our way from Vancouver to Tofino, we decided to stop in Port Alberni. Several of the restaurants we had on our list to try were closed (Sunday!). We saw the sign for Bare Bones and decided to try it. We were not disappointed. The place is an old converted church. We tried a panko-crusted halibut and panko-crusted salmon, and... More
