The fish and chips are absolutely perfect and I loved how they have a selection of sauce and breading. My husband had the panko and I had the traditional and they were both great.

This place is terrible! Not fresh, small menu. Have spoken to many locals who find this grease trap a dive too. The staff are incompetent and rude. Especially the old blonde hag. This place is all deep fried. Not much for cooking abilities here. Don't waste your time. Over priced too. Nothing from bare bones is local.

Wow, what a nasty, angry person you are. Did we fire you lately? I'm pretty confident that none of our thousands of regular customers will believe this review is legitimate. If you have personal issue with us as owners or our excellent manager (the old blond hag), you should have the decency to confront us directly rather than taking this... More

We went here with friends from the area. We've had fish and chips from the east coast of Canada to the west coast and everywhere in between (as well as many other countries). This ranked up there with some of the best for sure. I had the two-piece cod dinner, one English batter, one panko crumbed. Both were good (although... More

Hands down this is the best fish and chip place I have ever visited. They have hefty portions and a delicious panko batter that doesn't leave you feeling weighed down! I've been here many times and I absolutely love it!

This was a great place to eat. This is a must do if you are visiting Port Alberni! The staff were friendly (and even stayed open late for some customers who arrived after closing). They were very busy when we went and you could tell they needed some more hands on deck but they made the best of it and... More

We had lunch at this restaurant. While this is primarily a fish and chips place, they also offer grilled options. I had grilled salmon with cole slaw and caesar salad (no fries) with lemon and dill sauce. The grilled salmon was super tasty and the salads were fresh and crispy. Nothing drowning in mayo. The restaurant is very clean and... More

Dropped in to eat lunch on way to Tofino. Never have seen a fish and chip spot where you can choose from three types of fish -salmon, cod or haddock- and three types of batter- pinko, traditional, and I forgot the other. My husband and I had the panko haddock with fries and coleslaw. Being a maritimer I am fussy... More

We have never eaten better fish than here in Bare Bones Fish and Chips! The menu is small but everything is fresh. We have been there for two evenings and the staff is very, very friendly. We tried grilled salmon and halibut both were very tasty. A.C. was very helpful by chosing the right dips for us and gave us... More
