Best Fish in Port Alberni

Have eaten here lots of times. Great Halibut and the best part is you don't have to get fish here deep fried you can also get it fire grilled or pan fried unbreaded.

First off its a old church that has very tastefully been converted into a restaurant. Get your choice of fish from cod halibut or salmon, pick from 3 different breadings.then pick from 5 sauces. Very nice staff. Not the best fish and chips but very good.

Bare Bones has amazing chicken and fish. Me and my wife ordered the halibut and some nice chicken dinner and were not disappointed with the quality of the food we received. The food was fresh, delicious and quicker than expected. 5/5!

This was the best fish and chips I had had in a long time. I really liked that you could choose your fish, the cooking style and how to style your sides. My choice was grill seared salmon, 1/2 coleslaw and 1/2 chips., two choices of fish sauce. The salmon did not need anything else on it. The portion was... More

I have had supper a few times at Bare Bones and every time the fish and chips are excellent. The setting of the restaurant in the old church just seems to add to the experience. The staff, every time I have been in are really good and friendly. I would advise people if they are looking for fish and chips... More

Some of the best Fish & Chips I've had. Good portion sizes will leave you full but wanting more, a must stop for anyone. They can also prepare meas Gluten Free.

5 of us visited Bare Bones for lunch recently. We each chose our fish, the cooking method, chips or salad or a combination. The food was excellent! Service was also great. And the price was acceptable too. Not a huge variety, but really good!

I like everything about Bare Bones. The decor is cute and the menu options were perfect. I loved the way I was invted to 'mix and match' menu items to suit my own particular needs.

But the prices in this church turned restaurant provide a terrific venue for a super meal. And at an easy on the pocketbook price. Run, don't walk to this downtown location. Better yet, reserve one of the 30 seats. And prepare to eat "the best fish and chips" on Vancouver Island. This place is a keeper!

Had lunch in this restaurant today and was really impressed with the food, service, ambiance. This is a small former church turned into a restaurant. It is a delightful restaurant. We split a two piece cod and chip and Caesar salad. The menu allows to you split or order individually. Each plate can be two pieces of fish with either... More
