Cape Breton off peak? Let Black Spoon save your night.

There is no place to eat in nearby Baddeck where we were staying, and most of of Cape Breton for that matter is kind of a culinary wasteland this time of year (late April). The Black Spoon was well worth the half hour drive. A welcoming and engaging staff who were enjoying their work, a casual... read more

This is not our first visit and to date have had great food and service each time. Decided to try something different instead of the usual. Had the Pecan chicken and my husband had the Lobster Pot Pie. Both were great. Didn't have to wait for a table.

Very good place to eat whether for a quick brunch or relaxing meal. Good bang for your buck! Staff was professional and always checking on patrons to see if all was ok. Establishment was very clean; in all aspects!

I wish I was there right now. I love the lunch trio! The soups are always delicious, and go with the house dressing for your salad!

This small restaurant has it all, atmosphere, amazing fresh cooked food, great friendly service! The seafood chowder and roasted veggie salad were delicious!

I am a celiac and was thrilled that the chef fixed me up a gluten free seafood pasta with cajun sauce. Taste, clean, quaint. I appreciated that I was served quality quinoa pasta cooked just right -- not the stuff made from corn or rice.

I think I had the same as I did last year. However it was great... Chicken and spinach wrap with lots of stuff in it. Melted to perfection or was delightful... Wish I could go more often but usually don't work over that area. Had to wait a few minutes as it is busy at dinner but turnover was good.... More

Arrived in North Sydney to board ferry to Newfoundland on New Years Eve. Not looking forward to the cuisine at the terminal or on the boat, I checked Trip Advisor on the local restaurants. The Black Spoon was recommended but I given it was NYE, I doubted I would get in. As I suspected, it was booked up for a... More
