This is one busy little restaurant with plenty of repeat customers. Hopefully one day we will qualify for the "repeat" and can soon visit again. The food and the service was excellent.

Had the priviledge of eating at the Black Spoon twice in one week and each time the service, quality and exquisite presentation was a feast for the eyes. The Black Spoon was recommended by the host at the motel. A , what appeared to be, small kitchen created a constant flow of tasty dishes, which were served by a tireless staff. The simple local does not compare with the quality of the food served.

Sampling chowders all around NS, this one rated the highest. It came with mussels in their shells on the top and the chowder itself had large pieces of lobster, perfectly cooked potatoes, and just the right consistency (not too much thickening).

This was undoubtedly the best meal we had during our 27-day drive from Ontario to Newfoundland and back, and after a long ferry ride we weren't even sure we wanted to walk in. Thank goodness we doubled back! Each item we ordered was truly outstanding, and the servers were extra accommodating giving us a comfortable bench tucked aside to sit... More

This place is almost world class even though it looks like it's just a local mom and pop place. Not much wine selection but what they had was good. The food, whether seafood or beef was outstanding.

Was recommended by a friend who suggested I try their Chicken spinach wrap. I did and it did not disappoint, the soup of the day it came with was great too. Reasonably priced as well, highly recommended.

I went there for lunch, around 13:30 I was alone. I was reading the menu outside and looked delicious. I order and food arrived super-fast. It was delicious ! The sandwich was very tasty and nice. and the soup was amazing. The cocktail was also very interesting.

My wife and I had been on the road for almost 2 month and on our way back to Newfoundland and waiting for the ferry we walked into North Sydney, NS. We just refuse to eat CM Marine food it is so bad. Then we found the Black Spoon! A short walk. It was full and so we said to... More
