I have been visiting this restaurant for many years and since the new owners took over things seem to be slipping. On several occasions the F&C has not been the same quality, quantity and value that I had always enjoyed. I offered to take a friend there the other day and he said "I really had a bad experience there"... More

Fish is nice and big and well cooked. Resonable price. Close to Truro's malls and other restaurants and the highway.

Found thia little gem on Trip Advisor while sitting out front in the parking lot. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but you will regret not eating here. My wife had the scallops and fries while my son and I had the fish and chips, mmmm delicious, batter was nice and light, service and staff were awesome. DO... More

I have been stopping at the Shillelagh for many years now and the quality of their fish and chips has remained consistently high therefore you can depend on a great meal anytime.

While passing through Truro, Nova Scotia, my husband and I have for several years made a point of stopping at the Shillelagh House restaurant for fish and chips for lunch. It's a small place - maybe ten tables in total - and is not much to look at for "atmosphere", but the food is excellent for what it is. They... More

A couple of my friends decided to go to eat fish and chips. They were the best I have ever eaten. Crispy...and the fries ...Wow! The service was friendless and so nice. I would recommend this place to anybody.

This restaurant is small but mighty. The staff are very pleasant and the fish in its' light batter and the home made fries will keep you coming back. I am thankful they use Kraft Tartar sauce. A tad expensive, however, the best fish and chips ever!

As most fish 'n chip lovers do, we all have our favorite places. Shillelagh House is probably my favorite spot in Nova Scotia. I've eaten them on both sides of the pond and can say they are right up there with the best. The restaurant is small and lively, but I've never heard anyone say "we'll go somewhere else" if... More

I really enjoy eating here. They have a great batter for their fish, and their homemade fries are why I make this my first choice for fish 'n chips in Truro. If you have room have one of their homemade pies, I recommend coconut cream. I do wish they used a homemade tartar sauce. Over all great food from a... More

Almost $16.00 for two piece fish and chips and a fountain pop. $2.59 plus tax for a fountain pop??? Food was average. I'll try Murphy's next time I'm passing through Truro.
