A Destination in a Crossroads Location

Truro is more of a crossroad than a destination, but Bistro 22 in Truro should be a destination. We stopped there for lunch on a suggestion from "Taste of Nova Scotia". We stumbled upon this delightful bistro quite by accident and were treated to a wonderful time. The salmon risotto with fresh basil pesto was superbly cooked ( and presented ) as was the lemon chicken. Our waitress was quite attentive and went out of her way to ensure we were pleased with our meals. A wonderful chef clearly works hard... More

We ate here today for the first time. We both had prime rib paninis which were really nice and filling, i had haddock chowder with mine and the other had a salad, was abit disappointed that there was only salad or chowder as a side but all in all was very good. The service was excellent aswell!!

Beef very tender - almost melt in your mouth - topped it off with a wonderful dessert. waitress also very knowledgeable about drinks - made a perfect whiskey... More

We stopped here for dinner on our final night and this was a wonderful meal. Husband had the stuffed pork chops and I had the Caesar Salad with a bowl of fish chowder. The chowder was very tasty with generous chunks of haddock in every spoonful. Nicely finished off with crumbled bacon on top! (everything tastes better with bacon!). Husband... More

The prime rib on Thursday was very good. Even better was the pasta dish Cathy had. The bread was tasty as were our appetizers. The wine list is short, with fine quality. The crown on our meal was the Lemon Mirange Pie desert in a crust shaped as a bowl. Service was quick, and the quiet atmosphere was great.

Our second visit to Bistro 22, and worth finding in the older downtown area of Truro. The cozy, clean, bright room is filled with locals, and a fine place for lunch or dinner while in Nova Scotia or driving to or from Cape Breton or Halifax. Salads are fresh and generously sized; smoked salmon and fish and meat dishes are... More

This is a quaint little restaurant that offers good food and a very nice atmosphere. Although the sitting is close for a private business meeting or discussion , it is excellent for a fun lunch. The Chowder here was perfect and the sandwiches are usually very fresh and delightful. My only wish would be that they open for longer dinner hours.

After a fabulous day at the spa, I chose to have lunch here. I had a lovely lunch for a reasonable price. I will definitely return. The bistro is small and intimate. The service exemplary and food is delightful.
