Description: Produce a great tasting coffee "From Farm to Cup" and meet business and community needs. We believe that providing good employment and a good work place benefits everyone. What Africa needs is economic development, not more aid. Aid often allows governments to escape their responsibilities, skews local economics and does not allow people to achieve their full sense of self-worth and achievement. Good employment allows people to provide for their families, reach their full potential, and improves self-esteem. We consistently strive to achieve this in both Africa where our coffee is grown, and in Canada, where it is roasted, distributed and promoted. We believe that communities are not just places where we live and do business but an integral part of what makes us who we are. And, we are going to have a good time doing this!

Took my daughter for a visit - being a snow day and all - she really likes the 'vibe' of the coffee culture. She has been with me to most everywhere in town, so I thought I would get her perspective too. Wasn't too busy given the weather outside, but we were greeted with a smile, and very pleasant service... More

Delicious light lunches plus coffee direct from the owners plantation in Africa - what a combination! It doesn't get any better than that!

Enjoyed a good bowl of chilli with toast after being at the Remembrance Day Service! Then a cappuccino!

Glad we stopped to try this coffee place. There are so many to choose from in Collingwood we could easily have missed it! Comfortable interiors, fresh coffee, and quality baked goods. Try their berry scones!

Stopped in at Ashanti this week for a coffee and a sandwich and was not disappointed. The coffee was very flavourful and the Corned Beef sandwich was very wholesome and tasty - the marbled bread was a nice touch. The atmosphere was very relaxing complete with wicker chairs - a nice change from the plasticky atmosphere in the coffee chains.... More

Nice location but too expensive. The Carrot cake was stale, probably sitting on the shelf all day. Coffee was OK but nothing special.

Presentation in every way is great that anyone will admire it and feel that can I have similar in my town. Specialty is the fresh coffee beans roasted at the cafe, so really fresh. Chai fog also great and mostly, it won't come with sugar added, so if you are a diabetic then perfect for us. Atmosphere is wonderful, I... More

Tried their pumpkin spice lattes (made with real pumpkin - yum!!) Also tried a sandwich and muffin which were so-so. But clearly coffee is what these folks are famous for!

When I heard the story of Ashanti Café, I wanted to try it. I found it remarkable that first, you grow a coffee plantation with your choice of beans, bring it home to a small Ontario town, and open a couple of coffee shops that serve your own choice of beans! So naturally, I wanted to taste the Ashanti coffee.... More
