I was taken there for my birthday. It was my first visit. It's quaint. The service is superb. The menu is great. I really enjoyed it. I was just disappointed that my birth month coincides with chillier weather so we couldn't take advantage of sitting on the porch to enjoy the sunset over the lake. Other than that, we had... More

Brasserie is what I call a "special occasion restaurant"....ie, our budget can only swing it occasionally. HOWEVER, it is by far, in my opinion, the best restaurant in Kincardine and surrounding area. One caveat, which is actually a positive....if the menu item mentions a particular ingredient, ie mushrooms, it will be REALLY mushroom-y, so you'd better love them! They also... More

I recently attended a whisky dinner at The Brasserie and I have to say that the dinner was absolutely amazing ! A nice and warm welcome from Dianne Chrysler the owner and Derek Griffiths the Chef. The service was very efficient, fast and courteous. A great team that added a great atmosphere to the room. Starting the dinner with a... More

Would highly recommend bison entree, seafood chowder, crab fritters and, of course, date sticky toffee pudding with local organic ice cream. Impressive wine list with a good range of styles and prices. Beautiful decor and can't beat that view!

We have gone once a year for the past decade and have always (in the past) found the food and service to be excellent. Our dinner last night was terrible. The mussels were hot but chewy, the broth incredibly salty. My wife had the steak/frites and pronounced it to be the worst meal she has ever had. Steak was full... More

This restaurant provides all the ingredients for a great dining experience for special occasions - excellent service, good food and ambiance. The historic home has a wonderful large back deck (covered) for outdoor dining, with spectacular views of the sunsets on the Lake in the evening. Our family tried a number of dishes that were good, including the lamb shank,... More

This is the second time I have been to this fine dining restaurant. The food presentation was very good, but the food was mediocre at best. The food portions were small. My soup du jour was only Luke warm at best. I sent it back to be reheated. There was no question that the view was nice, very nice set... More

You can't beat the Brasserie's location - beautiful patio overlooking Lake Huron and its spectacular sunsets. This is the reason we eat here once a year. However, I have always found the Brasserie's menu lacking and the food overpriced for the quality. Last night was no exception. As a vegetarian, I had always been puzzled that they did not offer... We dined on the porch and were too early for the sunset, but loved the room, the food, the service and the entire evening! Many wonderful menu choices and all six of us were thrilled with our choices. Portions were generous and well presented. Even the wash rooms were notable! Try it!

Our evening at the Brasserie was so enjoyable I thought I should share our experience. We started with the French Kiss oysters, even our 11 year old son thought they were amazing and keeps wanting to know when we can go back. For my main dish I had the peppercorn beef tenderloin I can not state enough how yummy it... More
