A friend took me here. We had several food, but the one that I remember the most was the tom yum soup. The sourness and the spiciness was amazing. I recommend everyone to try their tom yum.

The surrounding businesses are a bit gritty but don't be fooled as this place is the real deal. If you're going for lunch, get there early as it fills up quick. Great food served hot and flavourful. Only quibble - they could definitely upgrade their bathroom!

I always eat at Northern Thai when I'm in Kitchener on business. It's a hard-to-beat combination of pleasant surroundings, reasonable prices, good service, and excellent food.

I'm staying at the Walper Hotel, and Max at the front desk recommended Northern Thai. It is 1.5 blocks from the hotel, and located in a nice area for an after-dinner walk along Church Street. The restaurant is clean, well lit, and very unassuming. The service was prompt upon entering, but somewhat unpolished. The food ... perfect. The Tom Yum... More

Every time I am in Kitchener visiting a good friend, we eat here. I have never been disappointed, and I eat quite a bit of Thai food. Their food is very well prepared. Love their curries, pad thai, coconut chicken soup. My friend swoons over their mango salad. I also love the ultra modest surroundings - clean, charming, unpretentious, but... More

Pleasant service and decent food, but the name suggests that one might be able to actually eat Northern Thai dishes here. That is not the case. Competent, even tasty standards abound but hte only "northern" dish was Chiang Mai Curry - Gang-Nuer and it was not a standout. Not that I'd not go back, rather I'd explore other options first.

I have gone here many times and the food is always awesome. Best Thai curry in the area, great value and friendly staff. Can't believe this place isn't always packed? You have to eat here, you love it!

I met a coworker here for lunch for the first time today. It doesn't look like much on the outside and I was a bit skeptical, but the restaurant is cute and inviting on the inside. As soon as we sat down we were brought a pot of tea, which was welcome considering it is -20 outside! We ordered the... More

I came into Northern Thai at 8:55 pm on a Monday night because I thought they closed at 10:00 pm. They told me that they would serve me and I could eat in if I wanted to but I kindly declined and got my food to go (however I really appreciated the offer). I went back to my hotel and... More
