Always exceptional

This place never lets me down. Always great service, food and beverages specially the wine selection, all at a reasonable price. Most dishes in the$12 to $25 range.

During a visit to the area my relative made a reservation for us for dinner. We arrived promptly but we're told we'd have to wait for our table to be free. The only place to wait is either standing or perched on high bar stools. We chose the latter which was just as well as we had a wait of... More

several of us went to this restaurant before taking in a show next door. I had the curry which was very good. The service was quick and efficient. The cost of the meal was reasonable given the portion served.

I have been eating at the Explorers for years and never thought to write a review. The restaurant is small, quite cosy and always busy. The decor is out of the ordinary and the food is the same. To be honest, i had no idea that this place even existed for a few years after moving up here but the... More

One of the best meals I have ever had. The flavours in each dish were a work of art. The servers explain their menu in detail assisting us in our choices of appetizers, main and desserts. As a vegetarian this place is a dream. For the seafood lover, he couldn't have been more delighted. The only downside to this restaurant... More

We have gone to this restaurant many times and we always find something new and exciting to try. They change the menus for the seasons. The food is interesting, different, and absolutely delicious every time we come. We go to Midland often, and it is by far our favourite restaurant in town.

Explorers Café was a great place to dine at during a Georgian Bay weekend trip. It offers a unique blend of foods and a descent selection of dining options be it for lunch, dinner or dessert. I absolutely enjoyed their vegetarian dishes and was very fascinated by their seaside art collection. This place is surely a conversation starter, very inviting... More

This is a great restaurant, with a varied menu and friendly service. We had dinner - shared the salt cod chowder to start which was HUGE and really delicious, I had elk bourgiugnon which was delicious, and my husband had the duck which he loved too. We were there during Earth Hour, and the restaurant turned out the lights and... More

When we want something and someplace special we go here. Consistently wonderful, small menu but they do it right! Not inexpensive but if fancy and great are what you're looking for, look no further.

This one was a surprise for me. A colleague took me out for lunch here. I did not expect the hidden in the corner local eating joint to be a brilliant, spacey, classy restaurant with excellent tastefully decorated interiors. Word on the street is that the owners are a couple that travel the word and bring back souvenirs to adorn... More
