Checked out this place while in town for business. Not as hard to find as other reviews suggest. Full at 8pm on a Thursday night, a real mixed crowd that is indicative if the reputation and variety. Expansive wine list. Ordered Argentine steak based on reviews. Impressive plate! Great cut of steak and excellent presentation. Too bad that the ordered... More

A hidden gem back off the main street of Midland. Was pricier than I first wanted but thought I'd treat the family to a special meal.....and wow. The ambience was nautical and not to my taste but nice. Menu was small but varied. I enjoyed the best steak I have ever had! It was amazingly cooked and topped with a... More

We found the Explorers Cafe with tripadvisor ratings as one of the top restaurants to visit in Midland. We all had different dishes and they were all very good. Our only complaint was one of the steaks was under seasoned. Everything else was really good. The atmosphere is very interesting with a lot to look at and the service was... More

went there to celebrate my birthday with my family. Food is as usually excellent. My wife, 2 daughters and grandson had the Singapore/Indonesian noodles, the other daughter and son in law had the steak, grand daughter chicken and fries, and I had the "Passage to India" with pork, although very good, I would have preferred it with lamb. The man... More

Even finding the Explorer's Cafe is a bit of an adventure as it is not right on the Street, but back behind another building. The decor is interesting and eclectic, with obviously an explorer's theme. Telescopes, pith helmets, and pictures of far off exotic locations give you something to look at while dining. The food is very good and covers... More

It was our first time there and it was a bit harder to find, we had to circle around the back of the block to see it. The restaurant is pretty cool inside (and patio available outside), with a nautical theme and lots of wood. The waiter was terrific, knew the menu extremely well, was great with our 2 year... More

Food was good and the quantity was also good. The waiter was smiling and offered alternatives and was very knowledgeable.

We recently had the pleasure of dinning at The Explorers Cafe in Midland. Our meal started with 2 apps (the minnows )which were perfectly breaded smelts that melted in your mouth served with a dipping sauce that also enhanced the flavor and the soup of the day which was fantastic (gator gumbo) I highly recommend trying both. My guest had... More
