Meh. I've experienced better

The food was decent - had the palak paneer, daal and the matar paneer. Nothing to rant and rave about. Slow, slow service and a bit on the pricer side. I remember standing at the front counter waiting for the server to recalculate our bill accordingly. This was only after he spoke with a regular... read more

So disappointed and embarrassed as we wanted to buy a dinner for our friends ... We spend $113.00 on the take out dinner and frankly was shocked at the quality and amount of protein in each of the entrees . For example they charged us $13.00 for 6 wings and the chicken dishes may have been comprised of 1 chicken... More

So happy to find great Indian food in Newmarket! We are used to some of the options in downtown Toronto, and I would say this was comparable. First time here, definitely will be back. Service was prompt and friendly. Everything was delicious- samosas, pakora, butter chicken, lamb vindaloo (not too insanely spicy), daal, paneer. (Only exception was the tandoori chicken,... More

This Restaurant is as good as any East Indian Restaurant that I have dined in. Food smells delicious & tastes as such with all of their wonderful spices. Their Nan bread is so delicious, the best I have had anywhere. Indian Gate is definitely on my list of favorite restaurants. I highly recommend it for it's delicious food & cleanliness!

Father and son restaurant, food was exceptional and service was very attentive. Father was very friendly and explained what was in many of the dishes for us. Be aware they don\t take plastic!

Below average Indian food. Have been here for dinner and for the lunch buffet. Place is massive and always empty. Lunch buffet was poor, but decided to give dinner a second chance and had the same result. Food didn't taste fresh and just didn't have the great flavour that I am used to. Will not return or recommend.

We were looking for a reliable Indian restaurant not too far from home so we tried this one based on reviews. Some things were really good like the samosas and some of the tandoori, but some things were weird. Butter chicken was a few larger pieces of chicken in a huge amount of pale, yellow sauce. Strange. So if you... More

Visited here for the first time tonight. This is not a romantic date place, situated in an ugly plaza, the decor inside is pleasant though, and there was enough space between tables to not have to listen to anyone else's conversation. My husband and I were there for the food, not ambiance, and the food was faultless, full of flavour,... More

I love going here, there is a lunch menu, gets you in and back to the office on time. I go with the girls from the office and this place is a "go to". Have tried all the lunch specials, there is a buffet on occasion. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant. The owner is a kind and gentle man, very... More
