Okay food but great view

My advice to the owners of this restaurant would be to scale down their menu choices so they could concentrate on preparing less items but to a higher standard and quality. I had the gnocchi with grilled vegetables which had a nice red pepper garlic sauce. My husband had the pickerel which was not... read more

3 of us had dinner here before attending the Blue Rodeo concert in town. Beautiful evening so we sat outside. We had made reservations. The whole outside area was full, very few people inside ...5:30 pm arrival. Waited 25 minutes, then one of our party stopped a server and asked if we could have a drink. The view when seared... We stopped here for lunch on a rainy day but it was warm enough to sit on the covered porch. Great view of the harbor and Island Queen waiting to launch. We both had Pickerel on a Bun (one with fries and one with salad as we find we have adequate to share). Pickerel was lightly breaded as we prefer... More

We stopped in after a trip to Thunder Bay - last meal out before getting home. We shared calamari, I had a lovely spinach salad with blue cheese, mandarin oranges, fresh mushrooms, and raspberry vinaigrette, my companion had clam chowder. All were delicious, served quickly and the beer was good too. Best restaurant meal of our trip and the view... More

We went in for a drink, but stayed for dinner. Hamburgers were fair, we were told they had to be cooked well? Never ran into that rule in Canada. Onion soup was fair. Carrot Cake was very dry. All in all wished we had moved on. Also, it's not great when your waitress is also cleaning, sweeping, restocking toilet paper...

Was going to pass based by some of the reviews but took a chance for comparison sake and found it better than expected !! Restaurant has a great deck and the inside is quite nice with decor of the area. We had their Clubhouse with fries and was good with real cheese on it vs processed cheese. Fries were real... More

Having read the reviews and on previous visits to Parry Sound getting superb meals at a nearby (but now taken over) restaurant, we decided on this establishment with some misgivings. Starters ok. What we understood from the menu for veg etc did not happen. For veg read zucchini. Crab and fish in salad was tasteless. Charged for large shrimp rather... More

We were at Bay St Cafe last night for dinner. We had the pickerel dinner, baked potato loaded. The pickerel was very good the grilled zucchini was good, the potato was good but not very warm and not very much fixings - not really "loaded." However I judge a restaurant by the cleanliness of the bathroom! The sink in the... More

If you get a good day the food is great. If you get a bad, it's exactly that. The prices are reasonable and the location is great. It's a gamble to say the least ...
