Cozy restaurant for quiet dinners, and special occasions

Small cozy restaurant in Richmond Hill, well known to locals for great food. We had the salmon and the sea bass - not only were the fish cooked perfectly, the accompanying vegetables were wonderful. Great service - especially we visited on a more quiet evening.

Although extremely busy, New Year's Eve here was lovely. Service was a little slow to start but all tables were filled. Our waiter was fabulous and I recognized him from cafe en passant years ago. He was very attentive. He definitely made the evening enjoyable and made some great recommendations for food etc.. Six of us ordered different meals and... More

Not in the nicest location, but well known to locals. Good is great, especially the bass which my wife orders very time. Appetizers can be ordered to be shared. Great staff, make reservation because some days are packed. Limited hours for service.

After coordinating a group event at this restaurant, I found the staff (especially Kumar) was very accommodating and patient with my requests. I had booked a group of 20, and the venue was a perfect size as it only seats approximately 90-100 people. We were served promptly and everyone ordered meals such as the pasta dishes, veal chop entree, and... More

Richmond Grill is an unassuming almost invisible storefront restaurant that is like a downtown upscale restaurant that caters to commuters or suburbanites who want the same sort of quality they can get downtown but near home. The décor is nice, the service great and the food is excellent. It is also consistent in every respect. Whether you want a romantic... More

Kumar, the Chef, bought the restaurant from the original owner, and redecorated. The quality of the food has remained. Even though we moved away from Richmond Hill, we regularly return to the Grill when we want a great meal. His soups are all great, and gluten-free. The meat is always cooked as requested, and accompanied by "al dente" vegetables. The... More

We just had breakfast here and realized they have changed owners. The breakfast is still better than surrounding places that offer breakfast; but the old management and staff made the breakfast slightly better. 3 of us had similar breakfasts with different styles: 3 eggs, 1 type of meat, toast and home fries. My one friend went with blueberry pancakes and... More

It was our 2nd year anniversary and I wanted to take my husband to a very nice restaurant. I have lived in Richmond Hill for many years, and have been to The Richmond Grill years before. The locals here know that this restaurant is a diamond in the rough. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the interior... More

We'd been going here for nearly 20 years and always enjoyed the food and service. We hadn't been for nearly a year and wondered what we'd find. All was very good - was a really great meal with something on the menu for everyone. The steak was raved about and it certainly seems to be their specialty. It was a... More

We were looking forward to being back at Richmond Grill since we had good previous experiences here. Had the beet salad and it was sour with a boatload of balsamic vinegar. Same for my wife's organic field green salad. Followed up with a veal chop and it tasted like it was past its due date. Service was mediocre at best.... More
