The Belgian waffles were great with strawberries on top, aside fruit cup. We were there with a group of people so had the back room. A reservation was made. Parking is on the street, Waterloo town square and behind the restaurant.

They used to have pizzas and all day breakfast foods, but not anymore. That was the only choice vegetarians had. Totally sucks if you're vegetarian. Great desserts through.

This is my second time visiting and I will be going back! Food was great, portions were just right. Service was excellent, the servers were very courteous and always asked if there was anything else we needed. Martini night is definitely my favourite, drinks are delicious and a good value! There's a newer female bartender there who can mix a... More

Symposium used to be one of my favourite places to eat in Waterloo. After going there for brunch with my family this morning, I will never go back. I'm not sure whether it is under new management or what, but one of the best restaurants in the city is now a complete farce. Portion sizes are a fraction of what... More

Was in town for business and ate in a group of 20. Everyone was very pleased. The vegetarian options were appreciated by several members of our group. The pasta was excellent. I had the Top Sirloin, it was cooked perfectly, tender, and the potato/veg combination was very good. We were there on a Tuesday night and they had a good... More

We arrived at The University of Waterloo on a mid-afternoon Sunday. We left it up to our studious daughter to select a bistro for an intimate family lunch. We were very surprised and pleased with this facility's location, just a stone's throw from the two universities. Parking was not a problem on a Sunday. It was free and ample. My... More

Moving our daughter back to University was long and exhausting. Very tired and hungry we looked for somewhere close to sit and have a nice meal. We were lucky enough to get to Symposium at 5pm and learned that they offer an early bird dinner special. Between 4 and 5:30pm they have a menu with options all for $13.95 I... More

Symposium for breakfast or lunch is usually a reliable choice in Waterloo. The atmosphere of an old-style hotel dining room is appealing; the patio in summer is also comfortable and protected from too much sun or rain. Service, while sometimes slow, is quite acceptable. The food can be somewhat variable from visit to visit. For example, they offer half a... More

This is part of a chain - some pseudo-Renaissance Italian/Greek decor that has nothing to do with the location, food, or drinks. Lots of cakes - some good, some less-so. A variety of specialty coffees, all fairly pricey. Sunday brunch is good with a good choice of items. The staff service is mixed - sometime friendly, sometimes you get a... More

My friends and I have been there so many times ( I really do not know why :D ) . May be good location. The food is ok. I have tried burgers, pasta, spinach dip and etc. They all taste good, nothing extraordinary though. The cakes, some are awesome and some disappointing but what I love is the cake tour... More
