This was my second or third visit to Angie's Kitchen and brought to mind why I have rarely gone there. It's the food. For example, I ordered a BLT with home fries. Thick slabs of bread were under-toasted, the bacon fat hadn't been cut away and the lettuce was the cheapest variety you could find... read more

I wanted to try a new breakfast place that was different from Cora's and a friend recommended Angie's because it was family owned and you wouldn't find it anywhere else. I'm glad she recommended it because the place was awesome! The menu offered so many choices. I got the eggs benedict with pemeal bacon and it came with homefries. It... More

I love Angie's. I went every day during my six day stay in Waterloo because I loved everything about it so I actually can't believe the other reviews about Angie's that I see here on this site! Are we even talking about the same place? To be absolutely clear I'm talking about the original Angie's at 47 Erb St in... More

It seemed cosy and cute, but it was not. The waitress & owner (Suzanne i beleive) was arrogant & pretended she didn't know anything. Or maybe she really didn't. Who knows. She kept changing her story and was not apologetic for getting facts about food in her own restaurant. She was busy getting a bit too chummy with some customers.... More

I have been going for coffee on a regular basis for several months. I got a dirty cup and asked for a replacement. I was told it was not dirty. I said I would not serve it at home. I received another cup. Several weeks later several of us at the table got dirty cups. Now we all check the... More

Old place with many pics all over the place, interesting, friendly people, the owners were there, excellent service and delicious food. The bakery is wonderful.

Their breakfast is amazing. The bread is all fresh, they have a variety of local and fresh meat and eggs and their pancakes are huge and fluffy. Definitely a must if you're in the area. Don't forget to pick up a butter tart for later!

My family ate there for breakfast and the service was great. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and accurate. The food, however, was just average and/or poor, and I didn't even eat some of it. Everyone left something on their plate, and not because they were too stuffed to eat it. The eggs looked normal, but tasted a bit off, and... More

Angie's is a Waterloo institution and is a long-time hang out sport for community leaders. Often times, these old style places have really special meals or quaint traditions that make it worth coming back. Here, the breakfasts are pretty basic and the food just okay. The last two times I visited, they were seriously short-staffed. It looks and feels tired,... More

Horrible server that talk way too much about herself. I do not need to know your life story. The food was horrible. The sausage looks like it had been fried for more than 10 times. The home fries has a weird smell and we found mold on our white toast. My husband had a steak and egg, the steak look... More
