Great place for drinks!

I had drinks with friends here, and we had a great time. It's busy, and has a perfect pub atmosphere on weekends. They have a couple of cider options, which I was grateful for. I can't comment on the food, as we didn't order any. I'd definitely return for drinks though.

Went here for lunch with some co-workers. I had the roast beef open faced sandwich and fries. Honestly the food was just so-so. Its pretty basic pub food. I did enjoy the styling and setup. Seems like it would be a great place to meet friends and watch a game.

I've been here quite a few times over more than 20 years, and usually have been reasonably pleased. However my latest visit was pretty disappointing in both beer and food. No more Inniss & Gunn tap. Guinness was a good second choice. I had the liver and onions. Liver overdone, thick, tough. Gravy glutinous. Carrots near raw, broccoli overdone. I'd... More

Well there's not too much to say here. It's the best pub around Kitchener/Waterloo. That said, always a great food and actually a more than fair price. And most importantly a great pint every time ! Atmosphere always good. I guess you can see how I feel about it but I'm being honest. Go there. You're sure to enjoy.

One of the best British pubs in Waterloo - the Duke never disappointing. Always a lively atmosphere, with nice people in a cozy setting. There is live music almost every night, with best being on Monday nights. Trivia on Tuesday fills up the place to capacity. Friday and Saturday nights are packed as well, and good live music. There is... More

I have frequented this pub on a number of occasions and have yet to be let down.My most recent visit was one of the best so I thought I would share the positive news here. My wife and I popped out to get some good pub food and a beer and were not disappointed. We shared nachos which were great,... More

Our teenaged son was intrigued with the architecture of this building while we were walking in uptown Waterloo. We hadn't been inside in years so on the spur of the moment, we decided to go in and grab supper. We were greeted with such enthusiasm from the (female) bartender and were invited to chose our table. The waiter was OK... More

This was my third stop at the Duke. I sat at the bar and had the British Poutine (loaded with really tasty beef) and a couple of beers. The poutine was excellent, and very filling. Nice selection of tap beers, and a good bartender. This has become one of my favorite places in Waterloo. I'll be back for sure.

The Duke of Wellington may be a bit rundown but it definitely still has the feel of a friendly local pub. We were there for supper and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I tried the British Poutine at the recommendation of our waiter and it was delicious. The braised beef was as tender as he promised. If you... More
