Great pub

The Duke of Wellington may be a bit rundown but it definitely still has the feel of a friendly local pub. We were there for supper and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. This was my third stop at the Duke. I sat at the bar and had the British Poutine (loaded with really tasty beef) and a couple of beers. The poutine was excellent, and very filling. Nice selection of tap beers, and a good bartender. This has become one of my favorite places in Waterloo. I'll be back for sure.

Noisy and crowded, and cheerful. This is NOT the place for a romantic dinner. It is the place for a good selection of standard and interesting beers, and god quality pub food. The service is good, but if you move tables, even telling your server, be prepared to have other servers wandering around looking for you while trying to deliver... More

Our waitress was very attentive and in good humor which makes a world of diferrence to a restaurant of any description. The burger was like it was home made. My wife had a sandwich and a salad that were both prepared properly with and with a good proportion of ingredients.

This is one of those places in the world that you always want to return to have fun once again, and once you do it is better and better. Each time I come here I have a greater time than before, everyone is happy and friendly, the drinks are awesome, they got live music to sing all together, the environment... More

Popped in for Sunday lunch, rather grubby chairs worn and stained, asked for a pint of beer only got 3/4 of a pint . However locals seem to like it as it was very busy, roast meal was poor , lamb tough, potatoes soggy - however the cheesy chips were hot and tasty!

My wife and I popped in for a drink recently and were somewhat disappointed with the slow decline in the Duke. Unfortunately, we were seated in the attached "solarium" style room, which felt like being at the kids table at a party. We were separated from the rest of the bar, which killed the ambiance. The selection of beer is... More

I like this place. They have their act together. The service is always good. The bar food quality is also good. The beer is cold. I guess the have the check marks ticked off that you want in a bar. I usually recommend going to this bar when I'm in Kitchener.
