Good food great service, bring your own WINE

I loved this place to meet up with friends and be comfortable talking all night without worrying that others can hear you or your too loud. The restaurant is almost always full, and it's a large open dinning area. Service seemed rushed, but it was crowded, though the waiter was extremely... read more

We went to celebrate a birthday, we were 12 peaople and all were seated together which was nice. The food was typical Italian pasta restaurant but overprice. One of our guest ordered lasagna and was served canelloni, I guess the dishes maybe similar since both are baked pasta filled with cheese but in an Italian restaurant the staff should know... More

Not the best restaurant for dinner because I feel it's a bit pricy for what you get and very noisy ! But for lunch, this is a different restaurant ! The atmosphere is more friends and business and the price is excellent. The portions are quite good in size for a lunch. The service, well just great. A+++

We had heard so much about this resto. Though the meal was OK, we were expecting more. Pasta was over cooked, no where near Al Danti as we ordered. Although the service was good & curteous, we left disappointed.

Let me start with the fact that I am not a fan of chain restaurants and Portovino is definitely a chain. The venue is nice with large seating areas, great for groups and some sections in the restaurant made with false walls that help keep noise levels bearable. Service was efficient and friendly. The food however was unremarkable at best.... More

Food was okay, don't get enough for what you pay. A little expensive and left hungry. Very big inside, so it can get very load when there are many groups at the same time around you. They should have sections for groups only, and put families with kids there. Have a more cosy area for people who want to have... More

I understand the whole concept of these bring your own wine places is that it should cost less for the average diners since they can bring their own booze. But this place in my opinion is overpriced for very basic food and in some cases not very good. I had the octopus as a starter, this was clearly frozen a... More

I went there yesterday for a Sunday brunch. This is the best mid-high end Sunday brunch I ever had in Montreal. For example I went to the brunch in Fairmont Queen Elizabeth a while ago and I think Portovino's brunch is better. In fact way better, and cheaper. Almost everything I tried, from mussels, crab legs, to pasta, omelette, French... More

Best lunch during the week. Bringing your own wine is great and the food choices are excellent. We make a point to go at least once a month for lunch

Went there for my BD, 6 adults and 2 kids. They seated us in a beautiful booth all together, very nice and cosy. Our server was amazing! He joked with all of us and even took the time to speak with the kids. At the end of our meal, I received a nice surprise, a delicious desert compliments of the... More
