Outdoor Dining is Perfect

On a scorching hot day, we stopped for a couple of cold brews and some grub. We liked the huge outdoor area out back, where the umbrellas and a cool breeze provided some relief. Others have complained about the service, but that was not the case for us. We split a Reuben which was plenty for both... read more

I ordered Irish stew with mash and garlic bread. When it arrived the mash was hot, but the stew was cold, so I sent it back. It returned, the stew was warmer but not really hot, and by now the garlic bread was cold and solid. Not impressed. There are plenty of other places to eat in Canmore.

We waited fifteen minutes for garlic bread, which was dry and hardly tasted of garlic. Then we waited another half an hour for the main meal. There were only three other tables occupied, although we saw food being taken through to the pub side. The meat was very good - one lamb shank and one steak. However the "steamed" veg... More

Reading the other reviews, perhaps we just went on a bad night. One of our meals was OK but the other was disappointing (shepherds pie which was all gravy) and the place has not been renovated in a long time. The young woman that served us was an absolute delight, shame the food was ordinary.

This place is great! We went both evenings we were in Canmore. Between us we had Fish and Chips, Chirizo Flat Bread, Chicken Pot Pie, Liver and Onions, and Bangers and Mash. EVERYTHING was fantastic!

Disliked nothing, Quite a lot on the menu.. A good amount of traditional English Food and American/Canadian.. Inside or outside dining, good wait staff and excellent food.

Great service, good food, nice atmosphere. We were here several years ago and had a great meal so we came back in our next visit to the area. The atmosphere is nice, pleasant place to sit and eat, people friendly, good service. The food was very tasty, good deal, perhaps a little small in portion, but filling. Definitely go back... More

We stopped by here for lunch the other day. Both of us ordered from the lunch specials that day: $9 steak sandwich with salad and the most delicious pepperpot soup?! Yes please! Also a "Reuben" inspired pasta dish.. sounds awful right? Reuben's usually have dijion, sauerkraut, pastrami, etc.. I can't imagine that into a good pasta.. But I was intrigued... More

We noticed a natural gas smell in the entrance way. Once past that everything was okay. We sat for lunch on the right side by the windows and enjoyed the view. Later, in the evening, we were on the pub side. Both times food was excellent.

Seems all the other reviews here say good service. Well we stopped here for dinner and had very poor service. The food was good and prices reasonable for where we were, Really there's not a lot you can say about it, they have a large menu, the decor is pretty dated, it appears to be a good locals pub. There... More
