A little bit of France in Canmore

Hard working creative and talented staff deliver first class pastry that you would find in Milan to Paris. I applaud the owner for the endurance she endured during the hard times of the Canmore Flood which hit them hard. A little pricy but worth the authenticity of the food.

If you are travelling between Banff and Calgary / Edmonton, you owe it to yourself to stop in Canmore for the most delightful breakfast ( or other) experience of your trip. Just seconds off Hwy 1. Best Americano ever. Breakfast croissants and sandwiches made to order. Attention to detail was oh so French!

Great place to pick up a loaf of bread or two. Good coffee and treats but a bit pricey, or normal considering Canmore!

Le Fournil does a tremendous spread of delicious breads, pastries and treats - croissants, pain au chocolat, danishes, etc. - along with a small selection of breakfast and lunch offerings like quiche, croque monsieur, soups, and french toast on Sundays. Everything is made on site and is super fresh and delicious. Staff are really friendly. Good coffee from Fratello. All... More

We made the trip from banff to Canmore specifically for their macaroons. It was worth it! The cafe area is small and while we hoped to have lunch there wasn't a large selection, but the macaroons were delicious. It's difficult to find French macaroons in this area.

Stopped on our way up to Banff for a lunch. We had two baguette sandwiches ( 1 Ham, 1 Turkey). Neither sandwich was anything to write positive about, bread was good, essentially no meat/cheese. Also had a raspberry danish, it was good. For the price paid, I was expecting much more than a pre-made sandwich with 1 slice of deli... More

We loved this little bakery before it had to close for refurb due to flooding. Whenever we were on a road trip through Canmore we'd time it to stop here for the mouthwatering French baguette sandwich's. Fabulous fresh baked bread great fillings, perfect flaky pastries for dessert. Just the best. Having stopped in today for breakfast we found the newly... More

This is a wonderful bakery. Their coffee is superb, the two lunches I've had here were very good (and reasonable), and the baked goods, albeit pricey, are very special indeed: delicious! Truly European-style. I like the new streamlined decor and am SO glad they reopened after Canmore's devastating flood in 2013.
