Authentic Quebec Poutine in Alberta!

Being from Ottawa, I get to eat my share of authentic Quebecois Poutine. I was very excited to hear about this place, the owner is a chef from Montreal so I expected them to know how to make poutine and I was not disappointed! So many different kinds of poutine to try (all of them delicious!) but... read more

7 of us enjoy the pouting and montreal smoke meat sandwich. My brother orders a veggie burger which crumbled like a smoker sawdust puck. Save yourself the pain of embarrassment of getting a veggie burger at this meat lovers place.

After we found out about this place, we make a point of stopping every time we are in the area at least once. The smoked meat sandwiches are phenomenal and very filling. So much so that if we each get a sandwich we are too full to get poutine, so we've only tried the poutine once. If you aren't a... More

It's in an industrial area which is different and kind of small, not too much seating area. The food is very good, the burgers are fantastic and the poutine is very good as well. They have a large variety of different poutines which many different toppings to add to them. We just had the basic poutine, it was good, not... More

Poutine! Large comfort food style portions. Health food it isn't but if you need French fries smothered in something of your fancy it delivers.

We went to La Belle Patate for lunch this past Saturday, and it was delicious, as usual. They have the best poutine west of Montreal (Carlito's in Banff claims that, but it is not true). We had the Sheppard's Pie Poutine, and a Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich (also one of the best we have ever had). My only "complaint" is... More

A little off the beaten path in Canmore but worth the short jaunt. So many choices, I haven't quite found my go to poutine yet but am willing to keep trying. The place is quite busy but they are very assembly line efficient but nothing starts before you order thus fresh. The gal at the front counter was very helpful... More

We always go here for poutine, which is yummy! The restaurant atmosphere has changed some lately, we do not enjoy the super loud hockey games (to the point you cannot talk with your friends or family over lunch). Don't sit close to the TV's if you don't like hockey noise!

Away from the bustle of downtown Canmore this is an excellent lunch spot for something different unless you are from Montreal. Friendly staff, Varied menu and none of the uppitieness you may find downtown.

Surprising location hidden away inside Canmore's industrial area, appeals strongly to locals and others seeking out genuine French-Canadian comfort food. Awesome poutine and memorable burgers in dozens of varieties, from the predictable old standards to the zany, outrageous and even brilliant. Family friendly. Counter service with lots of takeout. A handful of tables inside, but can be very noisy when... More
