If you love sushi you have to come here. Tak is the best, I've been coming here for 13 years and he always greets us by name, his wife remembers us too. The food is beyond compare for sushi, he uses real crab which is already one bonus, but the care and detail Tak puts into the food is wonderful.... More

We ate our way through several sections of the menu and everything was amazing. A few of our favorites were the: - Kakuni (pork shoulder) this was tender and tasty - There is a deep fried cream shrimp which was over the top, we ordered a second round of this one. - Baked oyster was another crowd please We will... I have been eating at Yohachi Sushi since it opened (approximately 15 years ago?). Well worth the trip over the bridge from downtown every time. Get a seat at the bar where the owner and sushi chef, Tak, will keep you entertained and well fed. There is always a good variety of amazingly fresh and well prepared ingredients but it... More

I tried Shabu Shabu (a Japanese hotpot dish) tonight. Really nice food accompanied with sake. The restaurant has recently been refurbished and is very warm with nice lighting. As always the service was excellent. I continue to be impressed with this gem of a place right on my doorstep. I encourage you to try it when in North vancouver.

My boyfriend and I have been going here for many years and have never had an average meal. The food is always super fresh and the simple combinations of ingredients have incredible taste. No McSushi rolls here, just authentic and traditional offerings from an amazing chef (Tak), who is an absolute joy to watch (recommend sitting at the bar). Some... More

A genuine Japanese restaurant offering a very good selection of delicious freshly prepared food. Excellent attentive service and very reasonably priced. The only disappointment was the poor house wine, but the food made up for it. You won't be disappointed dining here.

One of the best Japanese restaurants I've tried (and now regularly go to!). The fish quality is superb as is the cooked food. Very nice selection while maintaining freshness of ingredients. Food comes out quickly and the atmosphere is always comfortable. They are very busy at lunch and dinner is more quiet so it's a nice place to go if... More

After working in the North Shore for over a decade, I’ve tried lunch menus at many different restaurants. Yohachi Sushi is one of my favourite lunch spots. They have a great lunch menu, service is always friendly and the quality of the food is excellent. Let’s highlight four of my favourite dishes: Chicken Karaage - These juicy morsels are boneless... Tak, the owner, is the one often at the bar making sushi. He uses only wild fish (no farmed) and fresh crab (not imitation). He doesn't have wild-and-crazy rolls - he tends to lean toward the more simple rolls, but it is delicious. His personality makes the place. He's friendly but not too invasive. I don't always love the music... More

The service is welcoming and they refill your tea often. The lunch menu is excellent with reasonable prices and the quality of the food is very good. They have hot noodles - udon and soba in broth or panfried (yakisoba); cold soba noodles; sashimi, sushi, tempura, chirashi, etc. There is also an ala carte menu. Miso soup comes with most... More
