After a movie

Have been dropping in quite often after a movie nearby. This place is a real hidden gem, slightly off the main area but something to keep in mind. Food is excellent whether it be the sushi, real crab California rolls, kukuni or the grill sable fish...all excellent. Comfortable setting and... read more

Save the trip and go over the bridge to richmond. Their "large" roll is a normal sized roll and the pieces of fish in the roll on the nigiri was the size of a small guppy. The fish seemed fresh for the bit i could taste. Photos on trip advisor are either for advertising purposes or you have to be... More

Why do Japanese restaurants serve hot soup in old plastic or melamine bowls? I would much prefer to be served hot soup in a chinaware bowl. Yohachi bowls are not in good shape and need to be replaced with china bowls. Plastic wasn't meant to be used for serving hot food in. I ordered the Tokyo cut beef lunch and... More

Visited Yohachi Sushi a couple of times during our stay in North Van. The sushi was great - all the fish was very fresh, and presented in an innovative way. The chirashi was served with a quail egg, which was a fun touch, and varieties of fish that I'd never seen in chirashi before. The seafood soup appetizers were also... More

I used to live in Tokyo and having moved to Vancouver about 20 years ago I also have had my share of good sushi in BC. This is as good as it gets. Simple as that. Go there and I promise you will find it is another level above other Vancouver area sushi restaurants. I have not had the hot... More

I was told to take my 13 month old out of the restaurant after couple minutes she started crying. We were trying to calm her during the time. We would much appreciate if we were told babies are not welcomed before we were seated. I would say it's not a place even for small kids because there can still be... More

Just a nice evening out for some Japanese food and we chose one of our favourite sushi places. After this evening's meal it is our #1 choice for Japanese/sushi on the North Shore. Simply outstanding food, and I firmly believe you get that from Japanese staff in a Japanese restaurant. Many other similar places seem to be run by non... More

If you love sushi you have to come here. Tak is the best, I've been coming here for 13 years and he always greets us by name, his wife remembers us too. The food is beyond compare for sushi, he uses real crab which is already one bonus, but the care and detail Tak puts into the food is wonderful.... More

We ate our way through several sections of the menu and everything was amazing. A few of our favorites were the: - Kakuni (pork shoulder) this was tender and tasty - There is a deep fried cream shrimp which was over the top, we ordered a second round of this one. - Baked oyster was another crowd please We will...
