My brother and his fiancé took me to this delightful pub for a beer and a bite to eat. It has pleasant decor and the service is very good. It's a popular place and was quite busy. I had a local lager which was very good. We all shared some mussels and some chicken wings. The mussels were very good... More

I had the pesto chicken sandwich with a side of coleslaw for a light supper. Paired it with Peller Estates Chardonnay. The tomato florentine soup was a taste shock - the first time I've ever had a vegetable soup made with fish stock! I did alert the waitress in case other patrons had shellfish allergies as the soup definitely bore... More

Love the food here... I am not really a drinker but they always have drink and beer specials and lots of BC ales. I am a fan of the hot wings and fat boy fries with garlic aioli. Everything I have tried on the menu has been good. The service is usually great... I would say 9 of 10 times... More

We went there almost as an accident and we are happy we did, since the menu is good and reasonably priced, the ambiance is simple, fun and vibrant and service friendly, sincere and efficient.

We've been to the Black Bear several times over the past few years while visiting friends in the area. The food has been consistently good. We were there recently and the service was friendly and efficient. Their menu is extensive, with some international dishes as well as the usual pub fare. Little symbols on the menu identify vegetarian and spicy... More

This was Great place !! food was good for a pub ! Food Was decent nice choices , menu was hard to read but this is nothing bad. The only bad point is the 50 cent charge for side mayo!! ketchup is free and cost almost the same as mayo!! what the point. but will go again.

Stopped by Black Bear after a wonderful stroll in Lynnville Park. What an excellent surprise! We expected bar food, but found that the quality of the food and bear was outstanding. I even think you could find a city bus out of Vancouver to reach this restaurant. IF visiting the Lynnville Park area, look out for this restaurant!

We came off the ferry at Horseshoe Bay and were starving, so just took a chance and followed freeway signs indicating restaurants in Lynn Valley. Although this pub is located next to a hugely congested shopping centre, we finally found ample parking close to the separate pub building. We all enjoyed our meals and the pub itself is very rustic... More
