This place had a good variety of beers, not too much to chose from to be overwhelmed. The service was good, burgers were good. Avoid the fish tacos, I have never had tough cod which requires serious pulling and yanking to eat. Atmosphere good, good setting!

We recently moved to Lynn Valley and are so happy to have the Black Bear as our new local. Food is always delicious and everything is decently priced. Have been several times already and have had the brunch, lunch and dinner menus - all were great. We will be back in the near future for sure! Would highly recommend if... More

Food was good and the server Dawn, very good. The TV's however are set up with goofy feeds. The way they're wired means they can't have two different sports on TV's next to each other. That makes it a poor choice to watch, say, a hockey game and a football game at the same time.

They have excellent wings for a great price. They make there own hot sauce and it is great. Deffinetly a good spot to watch a game

My brother and his fiancé took me to this delightful pub for a beer and a bite to eat. It has pleasant decor and the service is very good. It's a popular place and was quite busy. I had a local lager which was very good. We all shared some mussels and some chicken wings. The mussels were very good... More

I had the pesto chicken sandwich with a side of coleslaw for a light supper. Paired it with Peller Estates Chardonnay. The tomato florentine soup was a taste shock - the first time I've ever had a vegetable soup made with fish stock! I did alert the waitress in case other patrons had shellfish allergies as the soup definitely bore... More

Love the food here... I am not really a drinker but they always have drink and beer specials and lots of BC ales. I am a fan of the hot wings and fat boy fries with garlic aioli. Everything I have tried on the menu has been good. The service is usually great... I would say 9 of 10 times... More

We went there almost as an accident and we are happy we did, since the menu is good and reasonably priced, the ambiance is simple, fun and vibrant and service friendly, sincere and efficient.

We've been to the Black Bear several times over the past few years while visiting friends in the area. The food has been consistently good. We were there recently and the service was friendly and efficient. Their menu is extensive, with some international dishes as well as the usual pub fare. Little symbols on the menu identify vegetarian and spicy... More

This was Great place !! food was good for a pub ! Food Was decent nice choices , menu was hard to read but this is nothing bad. The only bad point is the 50 cent charge for side mayo!! ketchup is free and cost almost the same as mayo!! what the point. but will go again.
