Enjoyed their saffron kabab and the best eggplant kohresh stew. Ideal for take out. Reasonable prices, authentic cuisine. Not great for service or ambiance.

There is a large Persian (Iranian) community on Vancouver's North Shore, and Lonsdale is the commercial epicentre. Naturally, that means restaurants, and now, they are almost as ubiquitous as sushi joints. However, Yaas stands out for its quality/price. For $6.95, you get the specialty of the day, for a few dollars more, anything off the menu. I had a beef... More

I visited Vancouver a couple of months ago with my boyfriend who had lived in Iran for several months. We asked a local for a recommendation. His wife happens to be Iranian and he recommended Yaas. It was a great restaurant. As we walked up and down the street, looking for the restaurant, we saw an other Persian restaurant a... More

I like kebab and tried many places. But I must say their Kubideh Kebab is the best in Vancouver. Meat is moist and well marinated with balance spices. I tried different kebab there, all are good. I like the best is Kubideh Kebab and their rice is exceptional and big amount. Place is good for take out than sit and... More

Second visit to Yaas. Very basic, no-frills type of place serving large helpings of kebabs, mostly lamb and chicken, and some seafood. Too meaty for my liking, but will appeal for its pricing and quantity, if not quality, of each dish.

The fixed menu combinations are fairly good, basically kebabs and skewers, with rice or salad. The prices are between $8~$10 per dish. Good sized portions. Tried a aerated yogurt drink (bottled) which I could not finish.

so I have been at this restaurant on numerous occasions. The food is decent for the price. Sunday, April 08th 2013 I was waiting for my order while we sat at a table by the kitchen. There I saw the female cook (she is not new, has been with Yaas for years) THREAD the meat on the kabob (with gloves)... More

Yaas restaurant has significantly ameliorated for the past few months since they introduced new meals to their menu, such as the salmon fish kabab and the chicken kubideh.. both so tender and tasty. the fish kabab is actually marinated in olive oil, which makes the fish so tender! and the chicken kubideh... oh wow!! they also have tanoors.. which bakes...
