When I lived close by, my spouse and I would walk a few blocks, rain or shine, for a simple bowl of your in-house boston style clam chowder. often. Sadly we moved away, but in every chance we get we stop in...and it's always the same: perfect!

Visiting a fishy eatery is always tricky for those of us who look at all things slimey with distrust, but my hubby is a seafood aficionado, so we hiked up the hill to check out this charming restaurant. He ordered the scallops on a rice pilaf and loved it, saying these were possibly the best scallops he's ever had. I... More

Always a little risky going to a restaurant for the first time on New Year's Eve but it worked out great. The special menu of six or seven appetizers and the same number of main courses (chosen apparently because they are the most popular menu items) gave our group of six plenty to choose from. The clam chowder, crab cakes... More

Enjoyed a very tasty meal here. Between us we had Salmon Wellington, Crab Cakes & Paella. Service was friendly & efficient. Offered an appetiser. Quite a buzzy atmosphere.

Arrived without reservation, and although moderately busy, we were given a table right away..... but that's all we got. After 15 min.still no menus, no water, nobody. All wait staff were assembled around bar area, chatting. Walked out, after complaining to the bartender, who at least had the grace to apologize, said they "were having staff problems" . If this... I was dining solo 5:30pm in a near empty restaurant, but the staff was buzzing around, looking confused. What followed: Starting with stale bread and concluding with the undercooked, almost rare, fish special of the evening. Fine- Every chef is allowed an off day. However, when I pointed out to the server the undercooked dish, shortly thereafter the young, clearly... More

For me one of the best measures of a restaurant is how they respond when things are not going according to plan. . .we arrived at 5:20 on a Saturday night hoping to have a quick dinner. Based on Trip Advisor ratings we were in for a treat! Although it was 5:20 when we arrived and there were plenty of... More

After moving my daughter from west end Vancouver to north Vancouver we decided to check out one of the local seafood restaurants and chose this one. Great decision. I had the fish and chips which was delicious. The fish was ling cod and was prepared in a light batter and perfectly cooked. Vet tender and moist. The chips were exceptional... More

Our experience has been two lunches. In both cases the seafood served was excellent, setting pleasant and service very good. There are non seafood dishes offered but we did not have them.

Planned a romantic date with someone very special that I recently met and searched for a place with a rustic but classy ambiance, delicious yet simple meals, with friendly and professional service. Fishworks deliver in spades! We reserve a cozy bar-style table in a bay window looking onto the street, where a monsoon was trying to wash Vancouverites away. Inside... More
