Had a business lunch here and the service was quick, friendly and food adjusted to our taste. Our food was served fresh and the quantity just right. Would go back again and not hesitate to recommend to others. Nothing fancy here, small and eager to please. We reduced the "spicy scale, but probably wouldn't next time, left the tast a... More

My sister have been eating here for years and I was craving to try it. Went last week at diner a Tuesday. Closes at 9pm !! (( I ordered only one dish: Singapore Laksa. It was absolutely delicious ! I am very picky about food (I'm ½ french ½ italian) and the balance between the flavors was perfect. I finally... More

I must first preface this review but saying that we have been regularly patronizing this establishment since it's inception. My go to dish is the char kway teow, which is a decent rendition of this Asian noodle delight. On our most recent trip, a member of our party discovered a long piece of hair in a mouthful. When we brought... More

A very unassuming, cozy little restaurant on Lonsdale (the main drag) in North Vancouver; we've eaten here several times. Although it has always been busy when we go, the service has been quick friendly and efficient. Drink orders weretaken immediately; food brought promptly, water glasses refilled regularly and regular check-ins followed to be sure we've been satisfied. Never effusive; simply excellent... More

I have dined in and ordered take out with the restaurant for few years. Overall food is consistently good. The portion seems bit less lately though. Today, I ordered laksa noodle, eggplant chilli garlic, beef curry, stir fried flat noodle. With the price I pay($13) the eggplant dish should have time and a half more of eggplants in it. I... More

We went on the advice of friends. And they were right...the food was delicious, huge portions, lots of leftovers for the next day. Yum. Our server was super-friendly, helpful with the menu, very efficient. All good so far...After dinner we each went to the bathroom. Both were distressingly dirty, the men's was by far the worst. PLEASE Tamarind Hill, take... More

Tamarind Hill has great food. It is not quite authentic Malaysian, but it is delicious. I've lived in Singapore and travelled to Malaysia extensively. This food is definitely more Chinese Malaysian. The dishes that make this restaurant are the Kuay Teow and the Snapper Fish. The snapper in particular is amazing. The Laksa is not good, but it is better... More

I sang the praises, and the quality went down hill. My first review of Tamarind Hill was 2 years ago. Portions were HUGE and the food excellent. We've been noticing smaller and smaller portion sizes in the last year and our most recent foray sealed the deal. We won't be back. Food, as well as being small in serving size,... More

We went there twice with family and friends. Having been to Malaysia before and trying this restaurant, the meals very delicious but not quite there. The Mee Georeng was good, and Laska soup was tasty, but didn't have enough noodles with the amount of soup. The service was friendly enough, but didn't sell me completely.
