Pleasant cooking staff, tasty food, portions a bit small for the pricing

The place is an izakaya, so it's expected that the portions would be small - normally, you'd need to order three to four items to make up the equivalent of a regular meal. However, each item isn't inexpensive, so you could be looking at 25-30 bucks (before tax and tip) before you head out the... read more

Ever want to feel like you are back in Japan? Aberdeen has a nice variety of places to feel back there, and the food its even better, the chefs are nice if you are at the bar. I would highly recommend better service by the waiters

I have been there multiple times, I love their food! especially deep fried food! However, this incident just pissed me off so badly! My bf and I went there for lunch, He ordered a lunch box with curry croquette and BBQ eel ( forgot the name.. he orders it every time he goes) I ordered a beef curry rice. We... More

Reserved a table for three few days in advance but received a table where all three of us facing the wall on the side of the room. I requested a change but was given a table that can only be available for 45 minutes. We accepted the new table and thought we will leave as soon as we are done... More

We go for lunch frequently & are always satisfied with their food. We also enjoy the atomsphere during dinner time. Staff are friendly too!

They have different lunch specials for different days in a week and the price is good, around $11/person. I had the Friday lunch special that includes sushi, maki roll, miso soup and a small bowl of udon. The amount of foods is generous. However, quality is very average. I get what I pay for so I don't complain. However I... More

Very disappointing. Food of low quality, limited variety and not cheap. Restaurant stank - needs a serious refurbishment. We arrived at 7.30pm and nearly all of the specials advertised at the door was not available.

My wife and I dined at Guu off Robson on their opening weekend years ago quite by chance as rain caught us off guard. It was magical. Since then we have returned to Vancouver and enjoyed a couple of downtown Guu restaurants. We are Ontarians, and I have eaten at the Church St. Guu half a dozen times, with and... More

We went to Guu on Saturday night as a family of 3. The restaurant met every one of my expectations and more. From greetings from everyone on the staff, to prompt service, inventive dishes and great atmosphere - it's a place we'll be going back to. Quality of fish, freshness and texture were unbelievable.
