Great food and atmosphere

Had dinner here tonight and loved it! A bit noisy when you first walked in but the upstairs bar was great. Lovely views of the harbour, efficient friendly staff and top food. Thoroughly recommend.

Was in Auckland for 5 nights on a work trip so got to try a few places. All our experiences were really positive, but this place was really great. Great industrial space feel inside, upstairs outdoor bar area overlooking the harbour, and a great menu. We had shared tasting plates and don't miss the kumara fries, poached salmon salad was... We wandered up to the balcony which does have nice view of the waterfront...however, the seating is not particularly comfortable. Service was immediate, as was the delivery of our food -- literally 90-seconds-of-microwaving-to-table kind of quick. But before that... We asked what the fish of the day was and got 2 different answers from 2 different servers...finally, we decided on... More

We dropped in for a drink and a bite after walking around and shopping. Went up to the rooftop. Not too busy yet, nice atmosphere, unpretentious, friendly staff, great views to the water and harbour. Glad we dropped by !

Our first meal in New Zealand after getting to our Hotel was at the Tyler Street Garage Eating House and Bar. Getting our itinerary organized over an adult beverage was the plan. It was late in the afternoon, about 4 PM but our eating schedule was screwed up because we had just left Eastern Daylight Time in the U.S. There... More

OK tap list. Short but simple. Food is pub fare but not for single eaters. The lack of wifi is frustrating for international travelers. But, all being said, go to the rooftop. They have beautiful views of the quay, a relaxing atmosphere and a perfect place to meet friends for an easy beer or bite.

No phone call telling me that they had changed my booking for 12 people from upstairs to downstairs. Food ordinary The staff's attitude was sub-standard, nothing that would be expected from a customer service orientated environment Disappointing experience

I turned 18 on Friday 12 December and I decided i would like to try Tyler St Garage for the first time. However when I turned up to the door, ID in hand, I got denied entry. Apparently they don't let you in unless you are 18 plus 24 hours which is something I have never heard of, and have... More

Five of us caught up with one of the party back in NZ for a short trip and some of us not having caught up for a while. There were a couple of DJ's who were really into their music and enjoying themselves which was great and the music also good, just too loud for us to talk at a... More

Good ambience, met up with an old friend, wine selection and snack food are great. Chicken, cerviche and squid particularly good. Booths for seating and another bar upstairs which seemed popular.
