This is my first online review. I rarely complain about customer service but this needs to be said. This place serves great food. It also serves okay coffee. The service however is appalling. We used to visit the stone oven often as it is kid-friendly and big enough to accommodate buggies. Such a disappointment when we visited last month and... More

Most of the staff are very unfriendly and clearly don't want to serve or assist. I like the food and bread (sourdough) but the staff attitude is disappointing. Looking for another cafe for my sourdough.

We had coffee and then a light lunch there and found the service was the biggest downfall. Coffee spilt into the saucer, plates thrust at us. When I enquired about details of a particular dish for lunch, the response I got was "I don't know" from the young lady serving. Perhaps this reflects on the management not providing adequate training.... More

Amazing selection of casual food and cakes. Great coffee. Latte is served in a soup bowl. Also open a couple of nights a week for dinner.Very obliging staff.

Visited on Saturday for Brunch.. Hubby had Big Breakfast...really really good..I had Asparagus Bene which was the special. .nice but asparagus could have been a little fresher.. It was very busy and had to get table near the childrens play area.. Bad move.. there was a wee girl just squealing over and over.. Good coffee..

Devonport is full of cafés, restaurants and eateries. Doesn't anyone eat at home anymore? This was our choice and it's just a little bit average considering the competition. Coffees were hot and tasty as was the beef pie. But would we go back......

The food is consistently good. My family and I have been going here for brunch about 5 years straight at least once during our yearly Auckland trip. While it's true that weekends can get really busy, the food has been good whether we are there on a busy day or a lean day. The mussels, wedges, and steak are our... More

We drove up to the Bakery because it got such good reviews on Tripadvisor. Usually tripadvisor advice is pretty accurate. Unfortunately not this time. We were surprised that the place was so big, cold (temperature) at 8 am. Not very inviting, the food choice was average. Kind people serving, no problem there (even though they got my order wrong). The... More

We had seen some reviews on TA that led us to believe that this would be a good option for a late breakfast/brunch/early breakfast while we were exploring Devonport and it was simply delicious and just what we were looking for! This was one of the few times when I was glad I didn't live in Auckland because if I... More
