On a sunny day, it is hard to beat sitting on the waterfront in Devonport catching up with a friend. Parking is easy, and Platter has lots of outdoor tables, just across from the beach. The menu was interesting and fresh, and the service was warm and friendly. I had the warm chicken salad which was delicious, and a fair... More

We walked around and out of the main part of Devenport and came across Platters by accident. The food was nice and the service pretty good, but later that evening my credit card was scammed out of the U.S. can never be certain where things like that happen - but as I hadn't used my card for a week or... We just passed by the Platter...the ambiance was so welcoming, my husband and me actually went in just for a drink. We had some great anti pastos with wine. Prawn salad was fresh and delicious, we had a couple of other items from their breakfast/brunch menu as well. which were also good. Service was nice! I loved this place for... More

Although this is our "local" we hadn't had dinner there for a year or so. Always a great spot for coffee and watching the walkers! But we had out-of-town visitors last week and had an excellent meal. The service was very good and efficient, wine list good, our table was by the window, everyone enjoyed their food and a very pleasant... More

Food was great. They have the food sorted. Lunch menu had a good selection. However, three people ordered fettuccine. When they arrived one bowl had considerably less than the other two. When the waiter was shown the huge difference in the portion sizes he just said "swap plates then"!

Late lunch on a wet Monday in September and place was pretty well empty - interesting range of choices on the menu, and all three main dishes we had were very nice. Good range of seafood. Manager had just returned from several weeks overseas and was very friendly, as were the stdaff who served us. Would definitely go back!

Went for family lunch on a Saturday. I really enjoyed my meal of seafood pasta however my mother had the calamari & I found it below average, calamari is a hit & miss meal to order & Platter missed by far. Husband had the Moroccan salad which again was very average. Had the french toast kids meal for my toddlers... More

I've been to Platter twice now, both times for brunch on a Saturday. The location is fantastic, the food is very good on the whole, but the staff need some training! One staff member in particular is so indifferent (bordering on rude) that it spoils the whole experience. Like the previous correspondent said, you don't feel welcome, more of an... More

Service ok nothing to make you feel really welcome and would be the main reason for marking as I've done. Coffee was good. Had poached eggs on toast...pretty hard to get this wrong. Really like the multi grain toast and they cook it well just the way I like it. It wasn't average but wasn't very good...just good!

We went for dinner .A great selection of small plates - tapas - meat balls were delicious and a huge portion. Chicken breast was tasty. The restaurant needs some heating for the winter! Staff attentive. Nice location on the waterfront.
