Found this place by chance, it is next to the Naval Museum in Torpedo Bay which is well worth visiting and has free entry. The cafe has very good outdoor seating with views over the harbour, delightful on a warm sunny day. The food is well prepared and overall plenty of variety. The coffee is excellent and the service to... More

After a walk along the waterfront on a cold windy afternoon, was more than pleased to see this café was open and ordered coffee and carrot cake. Must say the coffee was excellent and the carrot cake delicious. The views across to Auckland were just spectacular especially as we watched the weather changing every twenty minutes to no views when... More

I received a verbal recommendation about the Navel Museum at Torpedo Bay and as we had not had breakfast so we thought we would try the Cafe out. The welcome we received as we walked in was wonderful, the menu presented to us had a variety of dishes. We opted for a "Big Breakfast" every morsel burst with flavour, excellent... More

This café is one of my new favourites after taking my kids and my 'not so abled' mother there as we escaped the hospital for an afternoon. Parking at the door is a definite advantage and the service was efficient despite a full house. Sitting outside watching the boats go by is also a definite plus and our coffee was... More

Food was excellent staff helpful and friendly. Good service table was cleared quickly once we had finished which is good. Great place to bring kids. Would recommend as we will be coming back next time we're up that way.

This cafe is located inside the Naval Museum, unfortunately it was too crowded and moving thru the small cafe is difficult. The Service was also disappointing with lots of staff, but slow to no clearing of tables. Food was reasonable, well presented and good quality. I suggest that they try and reconfigure the tables inside, maybe a diner style banquette... More

We picked a good day to eat outside but the seating at Torpedo was sheltered from the prevailing wind and we soaked up the sunshine as we chatted and waited for our food. Order at the counter from an extensive blackboard menu, all day breakfasts with grainy breads and fresh eggs and good quality bacon, hash cakes with crab and... More
