Pleasant Lunch

We arrived here on a fairly good day but not good enough to sit outside. Not a lot of choice on the menu for me as I'm not a burger person. I had to settle for the carbonara as a main dish but it was very nice in taste if not a bit on the lukewarm side. My companion's meal... read more

Evening meal for two on a Saturday night. The pub was quite busy but the food didn't take too long. Both dishes were nicely presented & they were served hot (straight out of the oven hot). The food was lovely and the portion sizes were decent aswell. All in all a really nice meal.

With the day set aside for a walk through Epping Forest, The Owl at Lippits Hill was our first of several planned "pit-stops". Arriving just after 12.00 midday, my friends and I made our way to the bar. A first round of drinks was served up by friendly lady behind the bar and after a bit of deliberation, we put... More

I went with my friends a couple of months ago for the first time! Great location, especially during the day! I was really surprised to find dogs inside and a dog menu as well, this is really awesome if you want to go with your little and furry buddy! We had calamari and prawns as starter and pizzas as mains!... More

It's safe to say that you're unlikely to stumble upon The Owl, it's location on Lippitts Hill, on the edge of Epping Forest, somewhat hides it from civilization. It's more likely it's been recommended, and this is with good reason. It's one of those pubs which is a joy to visit in both the winter and the summer, with a... More

We were persuaded to go to this pub by reviews on tripadvisor. We were looking for a local pub to go to for a nice sunday lunch and thought we would go on a Friday to see what the food was like. We went on a Friday after picking my grandson up from school. We got there at 1600 to... More

We went with 4 adults 4 teenagers and we're lucky enough to be there on the first day of their new menu . We all ordered something different and every dish was really lovely , there were no complaints , the portions were very generous even the salads . It was excellent value for money , the staff were very... More

My family and me love this pub! We go there all the time because my Nan prefers traditional English food. The food is always well cooked, present and served. It has a lovely outdoors area which is just lovely to sit in when the weather is nice. Food is reasonably priced. We always go during the day and its never... More

Went to this pub on Easter Mondaylunch time as we were walking the dog in Epping Forest, it is in a lovely setting and has lovely gardens and is 'dog friendly' as well. It was very busy and we had to wait a long time for the food but when the pizza did arrive is was very nice, just like... More

We discovered "The Owl" after moving into the area just over 2 years ago and cannot believe the negative reviews! We have eaten here numerous times with friends and family (twice in the last week!), and all agreed the food was of a high standard and presented in top restaurant style. People need to remember that this is a very... More
