We wanted to have a roast dinner after a walk around the forest and I wish we had gone somewhere else. We paid about £14 PP for a roast dinner and it was not worth it for the amount of food we got. Also our vegetables were not cooked, the roast lamb came with more fat as well as the... More

August 2014. Two families with kids. Ordered Fish & chips, Bang on mash, hamburgers. Food was really disappointing and of a low quality. It was definitely frozen & microwaved. It was certainly not pub food let alone gastropub food, but they charge gastropub prices of course. You cannot see it from the web photos but the inside decor is more... More

We got married here recently at The Kings Oak. Such a stunning venue, everything looked amazing. Such wonderful staff who helped the day run smoothly. Food was so tasty, we chose the slow roasted lamb shank which was cooked to perfection. My guests were extremely happy. Would definately reccommend The Kings Oak to get married in or for any other... Have had two great Sunday roasts here now, service is quick, and both the huge beer garden and inside bar are lovely. Amazing location too at top of High Beach

I got married here on the 29th March 2014, I had my service and reception here. The staff were fabulous throughout the run up to the big day and Mark and Claire were so professional on the day, even when half my guests decided to change their choice of starters when they saw the other guests choices. The venue is... More

We had the most magical of days and we couldn't have picked a better venue for our wedding reception. Perfect location seeing as we married in the church just a little way away. Our guests absolutely loved the day, night and the food! They still rave about it 3 months later! The staff were fantastic, not just on the day... More

Attend my cousins daughters wedding here and thought it was a lovely venue for a small and intimate wedding. The meal was lovely although wasn't sure on what appeared to be a fruit salad soup for dessert although fresh and tasty! Very pricey for drinks £15 for 3 jeagerbombs!! But hey these are London prices!

We picked Kings Oak because of the location, and their Oak Lounge was the perfect size and beautifully presented. They seem to be on the ball regarding weddings. They organise regular meetings to make sure everything has been taken care of. This was a relief when you have so many other things to organise. I was a bit worried when... More

Took the grandparents out for a nice meal, unfortunately it was £50 wasted! All had the mid week lunch menu, Potted Prawns were basically 4 prawns sitting in a vat of congealed butter, served with stale bread. Calamari was over cooked, tasteless and greasy. For mains we had baked salmon and vegetable provencale. Both were appalling. The salmon was burned... More
