Great service and unusual dishes on the menu

We stopped by for a very casual lunch today, and were very satisfied with our meal. My partner had the lasagne which had not been baked in the oven as we prefer, it arrived as a portion in its oven-proof dish coated with a very creamy sauce looking rather anaemic. This was my third visit to a Zizzi restaurant. On all occasions I've felt that the starters have been better than the min courses. There is too much on the menu and very little of it feels genuinely Italian. There is no need for a pulled pork pizza. My pizza was £12, and while the toppings were nice the whole... More

Took my wife to Zizzi a few nights ago for our 9th wedding Anniversary and I must say it wasn't great. I mean, the atmosphere was all right and the food wasn't bad, but everything was pretty much forgettable, uninspiring and dimly average... The service was ok and we did not wait long for our order but I won't be... More

If your after a nice slice of bread this is the place, lovely selection of Italian breads to start but pretty much from that point on it was downhill, My partner had a risotto closer in consistency to soup than rice, can also confirm tasted nasty. I myself ordered the chicken skewers (marinated in olive oil and herbs apparently) tasted... More

If you like bread then this is the place for you but for anything more complicated forget it. My partner had a risotto more similar in consistency to soup than rice and the chicken dish I had (supposedly marinated in herbs and olive oil) was like chewing an old boot, All in all a lovely place if your a duck.

Visited with my two grandchildren recently early on a Friday evening. We purposely booked early as the children are aged 3 and 1. Welcome was ok, drinks ordered and delivered quite quickly. Kids were a little active (not totally surprising given the rather pointless large horse). One member of staff in particular (I think the manager) moved around at 100... More

I went here for a meal with my friends for Xmas and won't be returning it was quite quiet but we were in there for 3 hours because of the slow service; it took 20 minutes to get our drinks. The toilets were all unusable blocked with poo in and around. We all tried 3 different starters and mains and... More

Had a very pleasant time at Zizzi's from the moment I called to book a table. The man I spoke to was very helpful and advised that there were a couple of large Christmas party bookings (30+ people) already confirmed for just before the time I wanted. This was a helpful bit of information if It was a quiet evening... More
