Disappointing

Overpowering "live" music, chicken & asparagus served without asparagus (they'd run out!) however food ok, flat leomanade & a generally disappointing experience for our "birthday" party of 8!

I wasn't expecting this., Yorkshire generosity (portion sizes); real genuine flavoursome cooking ; quality ingredients, authentic Greek cuisine, nothing artificial, no short cuts and at a very reasonable price with especially good service and a unique setting - views of unspoilt countryside, just off the beaten track, but of course, next to a greatly entertaining railway track, deepest rural idyllic... We bought a groupon deal to come here and it has to have been the best value we have ever experienced. 2 huge pizzas and 1 huge garlicbread for £10. After having a look at the menu it was clear that their prices were reasonable in any event. Especially given the size of the portions and the quality of the... More

Let me admit at the outset that I am a railway 'anorak', my wife however is not, and we both have had a fantastic weekend here. The accommodation is in retired British Railways carriages, which have been converted to a good, comfortable standard (we even had a four poster bed) the main building is built in the style of an... Visited on a Friday in May, and asked to be sat in the railway carriage, which was a new experience. We enjoyed the ambiance, the art deco features, the setting, and the view was pleasant..... just far enough away from the tracks not to be bothered by the frequent trains. Though, after 8 or 9 p.m. there were less, and... More

Took advantage of a groupon offer and not disappointed.lovely setting.but best of all the very attentive and friendly staff and fabulous food. We had a lovely bedroom which although small was very cosy and comfortable. I can recommend this, especially if you love railways.

We had a groupon voucher for four people, this was either for pasta or pizza and a garlic bread starter. We were seated not in the carriage but like a added building between them. The view was gorgeous, and as the sun was setting it lit up the sky, plenty of ambiance. My dad and I had pasta, it was... More

Went with the wife on the w/end on a group on voucher, the venue itself is quite hard to find with no sign at all from the main road but managed to find it by asking a local. The venue itself is very special with the old carrages being put to good use and the conservertary at the back is... More

Just returned from a stay at The Sidings. FAB! First impression on arrival was how well maintained it looked in the gardens and it's right next to the train track. Inside is interesting decor, a mix of Train memorabilia/Greek and Italian. Our little carriage was splendid, cosy and had the complimentary tea tray and toiletries so has the finishing touches....
