Le Gindreau is somewhere you will be absolutely spoilt from the time you arrive until you leave. They had rooms inside but the weather was perfect for dining outside. This was a highlight of our holiday and of my eating out experiences. The location is lovely, the staff attentive but not intrusive and they were very friendly. The courses were... More

Having been faithful to the Gindreau under M & Mme Pelissou for many years, we are just delighted to be certain, after 3 delicious meals this year so far, that it continues in good hands with the Bardets. Impeccable service, stunning and delicious food, excellent wine list and exquisite surroundings, what more can one ask for? Hitchcock the magpie also... More

.....in Michelin-starred restaurants having been given food poisoning on my last encounter in a well-known, two-star restaurant near Toulouse where they presented me with a birthday cake instead of the 40th wedding anniversary dessert I had ordered! Le Gindreau has lost any of its earlier pretentiousness and has clearly taken the lead in understanding that origami-folded napkins, Svengali-style presentation and... More

We have been strong advocates of Le Gindreau in the past, though had not eaten there for a couple of years. So, when we heard that it was sold and that Alexis and Martine Pellissou were still in residence until the end of September 2013, we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary and birthday for 1 Sep at one of... St Medard is a tiny, beautiful village containing this gem of a restaurant. We were fortunate to be withing walking distance, which meant we could enjoy lovely wines to accompany the magnificent food. We dined outdoors on the terrace, which has a lovely outlook over the valley, and is less formal than a dining room. Lovely staff who tolerated our... More

It is very difficult to effect a smooth transition in ownership in any business and I would think that this is particularly true with a high standard restaurant. But Le Gindreau seems to have pulled this off very well indeed with the new owners making small, subtle changes while keeping much that is so good about the quality of food,... More

Went here for a family celebration in july. We were worried that the food would change as the new owner is scheduled to take over after the summer. However we were not dissapointed. The food were as good as ever, and there were even some pleasant new changes. They said they will try to change the menu more frequently while... More

Exquisite cuisine on beautiful terrace on hillside. We had 4 courses after the delicious house coctail, canapes and the amuse bouche. Great for a special occasion.

Of all the restaurants in the lot that I have eaten at, and that's quite a few, this is the best so far, no argument, everything was perfect, nothing at all to criticise, it's expensive, but worth every penny...
