Just enjoyed our 4th year of the wonders of Le Gindreau. Visited 3 times this summer with guests of 3,8 & 19. Various dietary requirements catered for beautifully. Staff warm and welcoming. Service effortless especially with large group.Sommelier, knowledgable and charming. The menu delightful and innovative under M.Bardet whilst Mme Bardet keeps a warm and watchful eye over the guests.Le Gindreau... More

The former owners of Le Gindreau have retired, and so this charmingly-placed restaurant enters a new phase. The setting - a broad terrace high above the village road in St Medard - is just as inviting as before. But the food, sadly, has changed. Gone is the elegant and delicious simplicity that used to make this address a 'go-to' destination.... More

There is little to beat the great food, relaxing location and fabulous wine and cheese selection. My only disappointment was not finding the foie gras cornet featuring on the menu.

We have over the past 6 years visited Le Gindreau. It was almost perfect, but now a new owner took over the restaurant and I fail to understand why they received a service award. Today the staff all of them failed to do the service you expect and are used to. Generally all in all it's a money making place... More

It is not always easy to find a quality restaurant where you can eat as well as a vegetarian as other diners. Le Gindreau is one such place - particularly if you give them notice. I posted a year ago that it looked like the baton had been successfully passed from the Pelisssous to the Bardets. After five visits this... More

We have over the past 8 years visited Gindreau. Every time everything was perfect . Today the staff all of them failed to do the service you expect and are used to.. First we waited and waited for someone to serve us. Then later we have to ask when can we order the wine. The food was perfect as always.... More

We haven't been to the Gindrou for a few years and this was our first visit since the Bardets have taken over. It most definitely won't be our last. We had an amazing evening; were treated royally and kindly. Oh and the food is just exquisite. The best.

Le Gindreau is somewhere you will be absolutely spoilt from the time you arrive until you leave. They had rooms inside but the weather was perfect for dining outside. This was a highlight of our holiday and of my eating out experiences. The location is lovely, the staff attentive but not intrusive and they were very friendly. The courses were... More

Having been faithful to the Gindreau under M & Mme Pelissou for many years, we are just delighted to be certain, after 3 delicious meals this year so far, that it continues in good hands with the Bardets. Impeccable service, stunning and delicious food, excellent wine list and exquisite surroundings, what more can one ask for? Hitchcock the magpie also... More

.....in Michelin-starred restaurants having been given food poisoning on my last encounter in a well-known, two-star restaurant near Toulouse where they presented me with a birthday cake instead of the 40th wedding anniversary dessert I had ordered! Le Gindreau has lost any of its earlier pretentiousness and has clearly taken the lead in understanding that origami-folded napkins, Svengali-style presentation and... More
